Not a far cry from her earliest beginnings of Motown-like crooning when she penned the club hit, Boundaries (BMG, Island) and released her Come Fly Away CD (theorchard.com).
She has worked with a host of jazz luminaries including her duo collaboration with pianist Dave Burrell, Teardrops for Jimmy, slated for a Fall 2009 release.
Vibesman Roy Ayers is featured on The Breeze and pianist Mulgrew Miller plays on Poem for a Lady from her CD Come Fly Away. Leena is in the mix with some of the hippest DJ's on the planet who continue to put a new spin on her tracks. She is a Communications graduate of Stanford University, attended New York University's Tisch School of the Art and trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.
