In the summer of 2009, Isaac said 'Miles, let's start a folk band.' 4 or 5 tries later, they had a line up. Good old Jamie and ferocious Eric. After a couple brief attempts at writing folk, everyone realized that Miles can only write songs that sound like Weezer and the Pixies. Maybe a bit of smashing Pumpkins. Bascially the 90s. But with less depression, and a bit more dance. A little bit of a modern take on some old sounds.
Miles always wanted to name a band after himself, so he told everyone that 'Leeroy James' was a 'really solid band name.' Everyone agreed, not realizing that it was Miles' middle name.
Since then, it has been a heart warming coming of age tale. Full of friendship, hardships and ultimately triumph. Think 'Pagemaster' starring Macaulay Culkin but with more distorted guitar. And maybe a bit more sexuality. Or something. I don't know. Come on out to a show some time and you can let us know what movie from the 90s starring Macaulay Culkin our music reminds you of. With any luck it is 'The Good Son.' Or 'My Girl.'
