Hailing from vastly diverse backgrounds, Lefta Centa have been representin' Newcastle NSW, Australia for about three years now and have forged their very own unique sound.
Two smooth MCs hit the stage backed by a dynamic blend of MPC-based beats and samples, live strings and an energy on stage that makes every show a true experience. From the tight, hard-edged bass and guitar riffs in 'CITY BY SUNRISE' ; to the soulful, heart-felt melodies of 'REFUGE' ; to the up-beat Hip Hop styles of 'ON YOUR OWN', Lefta have stamped their mark on the Newcastle music scene.
Strong beats, tight vocals, bass harmonies and the unparralleled sounds of Amanda's violin all create a live Hip Hop sound that crosses most established boundries.
No 2 songs are the same, everyone cutting from a differnet angle with a diverse range of production styles. There are some stories, fact and fiction, political comments and some flat out party tracks. Their dedication to their music have seen them supprting the likes of TZU, Blue Juice, Bretheren, Butterfingers, Eternia (Canada), Downsyde, Blindhoarse, Resin Dogs, Kid Confuscious, The Herd and a host of other fine local and inter-state talent.
Most recently, Lefta set tone for the night at the Caimbridge Hotel, for the Newcastle leg of Bliss n Esso's national tour. Alongside Blades, Jobi One and Sydney's Mind Over Matter, their tight, energetic set saw the near sell out crowd hit roof of the Back Room by the time the headliners hit the stage.
