Left Handed Thieves is an ambitious band from Boston that is wholly committed to the creation of compelling music. Their all-original catalogue and rare sound begs to be experienced live, at which point this band consistently delivers a paramount rock performance, winning over new fans wherever they travel.
Springing from a musical collaboration that began in early 2000 between bassist Ethan Ladd and singer/songwriter/guitarists Phil Grajko and Dave Delmar, this band has steadily honed and developed a pure rock sound that has weathered the test of time. The misfortune of enduring a series of challenging lineup changes has forced the core members to remain that much more determined and resolute in the face of hurdles. Having cycled through three previous drummers, they finally settled on Javier Mendez in 2005, who quickly became an indispensable member of the group. The departure of Dave Delmar in 2006 was yet another setback, especially poignant since it took place during the recording process of their EP, The New Blood. Upon completion of the record, the band quickly recruited guitarist Kevin Sypek in early 2007 to round out the lineup.
2007’s The New Blood, the band's highly-anticipated EP, was recorded at Sanctum Sound in Boston. While ambitious in its scope, The New Blood summarizes the strength and power of this band over the past few years and provides a mere glimpse of things to come.
Having booked and played countless venues across the northeast and successfully executed three consecutive summer tours, the heart of this band is on the road. To experience their undeniable passion and intensity onstage is to witness this band at their pinnacle. So with an arsenal of new material and a tour on the horizon, Left Handed Thieves will truly be a band to watch out for in 2007.
