Left Or Right is a power trio heavily brewed in Invercargill since 1985 (the town once acknowledged by some old cat from The Rolling Stones as the arsehole of the world). Now based in Dunedin the band is oblivious to any current genre trends, which allows them to push their sound further and further out of the box…
The highly anticipated debut record from Left Or Right is finally set to drop on September 19th 2009. “Nuggety” will be released on 12 inch Vinyl as a limited edition, collector’s item. It will also be available independently on C.D, Cassette (for those still with tape players in the car!) & online.
To celebrate this Nuggety L.P, Left Or Right will play two hometown release shows in Invercargill & Dunedin respectively. Nuggety will be exclusively available at these initial shows & on the Nuggety Vinyl Release NZ Tour. The nationwide tour will feature 19 shows from Invercargill to Auckland & will feature a selection of NZ’s juiciest independent acts. Following the tour the record will be available in selected record stores nationwide & online worldwide.
Left Or Right perform a chunky mixture of alternative spacey roots, sonic jazz & fuzzy rock/blues. Recent live performances have taken an experimental, psychedelic, noise rock approach and the group continues to draw inspiration from retro/vintage acts of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Left Or Right’s 2008/09 touring schedule has been chaotic, coinciding with appearances at popular festivals including PHAT 09 & Bluff Oyster & Seafood Festival.
In the 21st century an honest recording is a rare occurrence. This L.P is the closest attempt at portraying the raw feel of Left Or Right’s intense live sound, played openly & spontaneously…buzzy…
