Fishbear’s highly anticipated EP – Theep -- is now available. It’s a $5 buy at any Fishbear gig, or via your Fishbear network of friends. Soon the songs will mysteriously appear on iTunes, Amazon, Lala, and eMusic. The EP features five original tunes recorded in the state of the art studios at Skywalker Ranch. Sadly, Chewbaca wasn’t available for backing vocals, but we tried.
Fishbear blends musical styles to create a unique and exuberant sound incorporating elements of ska, indie, classic rock, klezmer, jazz, and more.
The group is part of a growing number of bands that meld genres in creative ways… like Beirut, Gogol Bordello, and Vampire Weekend, which are taking what was once thought of as 'world' music and making it into something new and exciting. Hungry and alert, Fishbear continues to explore new modes of expressing what they see through their collective musical eye.
Upcoming gigs include an appearance at Fillmore in San Francisco this January. Keep your eye and ears open for the latest developments as Fishbear continues to roam the wild.
