I had the great fortune of meeting Gregory Hines and seeing one of his last performances a few months before his untimely death in 2003. I believed the rumor that he often called for all tappers to come up on stage, so I brought my tap shoes just in case. I was thrilled when he did make the call and I got to briefly share the stage with him, although I wasn't one of the lucky few chosen to do an impromptu routine. But I was lucky enough to get my shoe signed. I have been equally fortunate to have also seen several of Savion Glover's performances, and was able to take a trip of a lifetime to take master's classes from him on his "Tap On Water" Ensenada cruise in 2005. I do believe he is the 8th wonder of the world.
