I run my own website http://www.leighmathers.co.uk featuring my short stories and reviews. I am a writer, not published, alas, though am badgering those literary agents.......... (Why can't you put paragraphs in here??) I am a writer, not published, alas, though am badgering those literary agents. I have completed three novels: Classmates, a nostalgia-fest set in the 80s (great fun to write), All the Rage, the tale of a girlband, and Gap Year, set in a village very like the one in which I grew up.......... I am now taking a little break from the novels to concentrate on short stories, which I intend contributing to women’s magazines. I am also going to embark on an Open University course in creative writing, to ‘go back to the drawing board’ and hone my craft somewhat.......... My burning ambition is to make it into print and become a full-time author. At present my job as secretary to a divorce lawyer pays the bills (though I do enjoy work).......... My other main passion in life is walking – when not writing, I’m at my happiest in my cagoule and filthy boots yomping across a muddy hill in the wild and lovely Peak District.......... I got married on 30 June 2007 in a beautiful civil ceremony at the Mill at Alveley to my beloved Nathan, after 9 years together - it was the best day of both our lives, and followed by the most amaaazing honeymoon ever in wonderful Mauritius.......... I live life to the full, and having ‘experiences’ is much more important to me than acquiring possessions. Should I ever come into money, I would spend it on travel and holidays rather than houses and cars, which don’t interest me at all.......... Oh, and I have no time for religion. I live and let live, people are free to pursue whichever religion they choose, but anyone who makes attempts to 'convert' me or forgive me for mythical 'sins' is liable to be given a few suggestions on where to shove their Bible! Being a hardened atheist makes life so lovely and uncomplicated, I feel.
Who I'd like to meet: Those on my Heroes list who are still alive
Sweep is sooooo adorable
