His body seemed to be drawing closer to her instead of backing away. She was more beautiful than he could ever have imagined. Her skin was so pale and flawless against her raven black hair that she seemed as if she didn’t belong in this world. He stared into those emerald eyes that shimmered and glowed. Her eyes reminded him of something he just could not place his finger on. Her tongue traced her lips giving him the urge to trace those lips with his own tongue. He drug his eyes off her lips and back to those beautiful eyes and that’s when it hit him. Her eyes reminded him of cat’s eyes that glowed in the night. Then he noticed that anger flashed in her eyes, the most deadly sort. But that was impossible; she was far too beautiful to be.... dangerous.

Shadows of my Past By Leigh Savage Now Available...

Blurb from Shadows of my Past:
Desi was staring into the depths of emotion reflected in his eyes. She felt drawn to him as if an invisible force was pulling their bodies closer together. She was suddenly aware of her lips being dry, and her tongue darted out to moisten them. She was aware of the hunger and desire that rose up in the depths of his eyes as he gazed at her trembling lips. She wanted to run to safety but she couldn’t bring herself to move. She had the feeling of being stared down by a hungry wolf, only he didn’t want to gobble her up but devour her heart and soul. Then his lips touched hers softly at first as if to ask permission for his touch. When she didn’t pull away he deepened the kiss taking full possession of her mouth. Branding her body, heart and soul so that she knew that she was his and his alone; she knew she’d never be the same again. Every rational thought left her mind as heat flooded her body.

I'm a wife, mother of two beautiful children and now at last a published writer. My first novel Angel of Death is for sale on Amazon.com. This is a very exciting yet scary time. It is sometimes overwhelming when thinking about how to market the book and how to let readers know that your novel is out their in the huge sea of books. I'm a author of paranormal romance novel called Angel of Death for sale on

Review by LB Goddard
Let me start by saying that I've read a lot of small-press books since launching The Monsters Next Door, most of which I truly enjoy (honestly!), but Leigh Savage shows a true potential. Why? I think she possesses the ability to offer a widespread, mainstream audience a wholly different spin on the vampire genre. Are you sick of slayer stories? Are you tired of the 'woe-is-me, I should have never been given immortality, weh weh weh' attitude? Angel Of Death is your solution.

Mika Shadow is a hired assassin who is charged with stealing an anti-aging drug that could help her long time friend and mentor. The problem is she finds herself facing the demons who stole her from her mother. That isn't Mika's only problem, she is falling for the target going against every rule she has ever set for herself.
Domonic Dagmar is falling for Mika, yet he doesn't know who she truly is. Can these two fall in love despite the odds?
Angel of Death pulled me in from the beginning. A few things pulled me from the story as I was reading, but Leigh Savage managed to pull me back in every time. There is just something about Mika that is not only heartbreaking, but tough. I'm drawn to her character and despite a few technical things, I loved her story. Domonic is just what Mika needs and it takes awhile, but she does figure it out. Ms. Savage also teased about a sequel at the end of Angel of Death. I can't wait to see what the next story brings.
Leigh Savage comes through with a solid effort in her first novel, Angel of Death. This paranormal/vampire story contains interesting characters that I grew fond of. This was the first vampire story that I have read and I did find the genre enjoyable in this book. Leigh's imagination took flight while writing this book and took us on Mika's and Domonic's journey. She leaves the door wide open for a sequel story with some of the secondary characters introduced in this book.
The task at hand: Save the elder vampires from the plague of "the endless sleep." As a hired assassin, Mika Shadow knows not to let her emotions get in the way. Given her skills and gifts, she's known as the Chosen One amongst her people. During her mission to steal the formula for anti-aging, and the elixir of life for the vampires, Mika finds herself facing the kidnappers who shattered her world as a young girl by abducting her from her mother. Soon, her past comes roaring back to life, and, as she is dealing with those demons, Mika also finds herself falling for her target. She has only four strict rules for either selecting a mission or dismissing it - and the fourth and final one: no emotions allowed - falls flat the minute she meets Domonic...
In Angel Of Death, Leigh Savage has written a story full of interesting twists and turns within the plot. The characters are enjoyable, especially Mika and Domonic, as they let their guards down around each other. Angel of Death is an exciting story, following Mika on her quest to save the elder vampires from eternal slumber and witnessing her fall in love for the first time. There will hopefully be many more books yet to come from Leigh Savage to follow this exciting new addition to the vampire genre.

"HAPPY THANKSGIVING!"
Thoughts of Thanksgiving
(Charles Frederick White)
Thanksgiving day is coming soon,
That long remembered day
When nature gives her blessed boon
To all America.
On that glad day, in all our land,
The people, in their wake,
Give thanks to God, whose mighty hand
Deals blessings good and great.
The roast goose, steaming on the plate,
The sweet potato cobbler,
The cranberry sauce, the pudding baked,
The seasoned turkey gobbler,
All these delights and many more,
From north, south, west and east,
Do all the nation keep in store
For this Thanksgiving feast.
Alas, for those who are denied
This blessed boon of God!
May all the needy be supplied
Like Israel by the rod.
