Stuff and things...
I'm not famous... I wash dishes. I have kids. I do laundry. I have a day job.
I'm a writer and a songwriting and I love talking to people about things that make me think and send me to my pensive place, because that's where most of my writing ideas come from and where songs are born.
I've misplaced many things... I've lost even more.
I hate shopping on purpose, but I love doing it by accident.
I always try to do the right thing, but many times I've failed.
I've never ran with a crowd.
I love huge kitchens.
I drink too much coffee... I'm having a cup now.
I'm a late bloomer.
I think there is something spiritual about horses... when I look in their eyes I see the beginning of time and just feel like they are from some higher place and sent here to watch over me.
I love pancakes.
I proactively avoid being the center of attention.
I believe every stranger deserves the benefit of the doubt and believe most people have good hearts.
My children created me.
I'm very touchy-feely. I love to feel the pages of the book I'm reading, the pen in my hand and my arms around the people I love.
I don't believe money can buy happiness, but a lack of it can cause unhappiness because the reality of the world we live in is that you need money to pay for food, clothing and shelter and if you live in a third world country - or even the USA - you need money to pay for doctors and medicine.
I grew up in a broken home... It still haunts me - but it's a ghost I've befriended.
My music and songs are about and for everyday people only, because I'm just an everyday person and I know how remarkable we are.
I have very poor vision.
I pinch the earlobes of those I love without even realizing I'm doing it. O__o
I come from a long line of dysfunctional beings.
Every time you ad my music to your page or take the time to make a nice comment about it, you really do make my day. It never gets old.
I quit doing house plants in 1998.
I like jobs where I have to wear a uniform because I loathe wasting time fussing over what I have to wear every day.
I hate posing for photos.
My dad is from the hills of Arkansas and my mom is from the Mississippi Delta. I'm from somewhere in between. O_o
I don't drink, but I'm not a non-drinker.
I started to write a book to tell you all about me and my life and how I feel and see things but I could never get my head around it so I gave up.
I'm twice divorced.
I've never felt like I fit in anywhere... But since I'm comfortable in most situations I gave up trying to figure out where I fit in many years ago.
I believe as long as we have our health the world is our oyster.
I like to sew.
I love to see people happy and realize their goals and dreams.
I'm fascinated by ponds... I love creating them.
The atoms in my body rock whenever I hear Delta blues, old-time traditional country, or southern gospel/spirituals - equally.
I don't listen to the radio much, but there's always music in the house.
I love trees and every time I move to a new place I plant a tree... I've planted a lot of trees. O_o
I love the smell of the earth in the spring.
I write all the time... something.
The one non-tangible thing I value and guard most in life is my time.
I love nature and wildlife and gardening and any chance I get I love to merge these passions together.
Success is relative and imagined.
I think music bios are silly.
I'm a product of the general mish-mash of life.
I'm extremely positive and feel I'm quite possibly the luckiest person I know, even on the bad days.
My favorite outfit is a shirt dress and a pair of sandals
I don't remember much of my life before 1980.
I'm territorial.
I'm the most sociable hermit you'll ever meet.
I don't have a team or a music machine behind me: I answer my own messages and do everything myself - so please don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't respond straight away and please don't ever feel like you're bothering me. Hearing from you never bothers me!
I'm an open book, but I'm very private.
I'm extremely spiritual but not very religious.
I was born on an Air Force base.
I was born again in Arkansas.
I love sarcastic humor.
I can do chaos, but I like it organized.
I have a second hand soul... I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure it's been used before. O_o
I'm not afraid of hard work... in fact, I enjoy it.
I press flowers and scrapbook.
I can be very pensive.
I love being around babies and the elderly. They break my heart in a most wonderful way.
I love people, especially the imperfect kind. ;-)
I've never been bored.
My middle name is Leigh.
T H A N K Y O U for reading this and for being here! Life would suck without you to share my music with.
Here's some really nice reviews of my music:
**************
"...a smouldering southern funky blues that calls to mind
a steamy Bobbie Gentry"
-NETRHYTHMS
"Stunning debut album from a Welsh honey who was born and bred in the USA" 5/5 STARS
-MAVERICK MAGAZINE
"Dripping with sensuality...Paced like a warmer Marianne Faithful, with drawl and elements of lust, the melodies are heartfelt as well as being anthemic; not soaring but pained. Her voice has a hook and a harmony that demands attention and is dangerously addictive."
-BLUES MATTERS! MAGAZINE
"...a strong collection of songs with a bit of bite, a bit of an edge... a dirty, bluesy undertone that give a honey to growl vocal range some real meat"
-FATEA MAGAZINE
"The perspective of the record is that of a seasoned survivor with all the strength and power that this generates... the blues and views of a mature woman"
-WHISPERIN AND HOLLERIN

Influences
I love all good music, full stop. I'm in to everything from Johnny Cash to Pearl Jam. I love blues, country, classical, bluegrass, rock, pop or whatever other genres the 'experts' come up with to classify and market music. However, music that has influenced me throughout my life includes the music of Russ Garfield Thomas, Buddy Miller, Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, Ry Cooder, Skip Ewing, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Etta James, Bobbie Gentry, Jessi Colter, Sammi Smith, Jeannie C. Riley, Marianne Faithful, Lynn Anderson, Charley Pride, Jeanne Pruett, Eddy Arnold, K.T. Oslin, George Jones, Charlie Rich, Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr and Nancy Sinatra. -
