Music, movies, books, friends and enemies.
Except for the music I've been listening to in secrecy by myself since I was a child, the music that my friends play affects and influences a lot, sometimes consciously and other times unconsciously. Here a short list:
Norwegian music: Ai Phoenix, Lars Wiik (Aluco), Empty Bottles Broken Hearts, Hotel Hotel, Einar Lunga, Real Ones and others in the Gjøa collective, Sir Dupermann, Rally, Herr Urheim, Herr Folkedal.
The pillars:
Incredible String Band, Vivaldi, Bob Dylan, Richard Thompson, old country blues, Smog/Bill Callahan, Will Oldham/Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Elliott Smith, Sandy Denny, John Fahey, Joni Mitchell, Steve Reich. In recent times Phosphorescent and David Pajo has become favorites of mine too.
Leiv Reed (born 1984 in Reed, Norway) is at first a glance singer-songwriter, mainly accompanied by an acoustic guitar. (ah, i'm writing this myself, so we'll just cut the third-person here). Like with everything and everyone else, new depths are revealed if only given time and oportunity. Making my shabby home-recordings has been one of the greatest joys for the last ten years now. I've recorded some with friends aiming for a more "professional" sounding whole, but we haven't quite ended up with the songs and the results we hoped for, so I've been somewhat stranded in my own lonely process for some time. For those who take the time to go thru the songs, and love them for what they are, I promise you there'll be an album soon (within a year hopefully). And I am grateful for every listener I have.
This is a picture of my parents and me, I like them alot.

How I made my profile: I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace editor, and a fair share of my own nerdy sides, Photoshop and html, yup.
