Sydney band LEK FONQ mix the music stylings of funk, soul, pop and dance to move your booty.
Lek Fonq’s sound gives a warm nod to the vintage sounds of the past, but also mix a backline of electronic drums and synths to create their own sound.
Since forming in 2005, Lek Fonq have played at many inner city and city venues and toured up and down the east coast of Australia.
Lek Fonq is David Ciura (Lead Vox/Production), Olivier Fabre (Guitar/Backing Vox) and Joe Tomarchio (Keys/Synths/Sequencers). The band plays with guests on bass and drums.
As a producer, David has released music productions overseas which have appeared on TV, compilations, ringtones. His music has can heard on radio on FBi and PBS, and have been featured on podcasts from inthemix.com.au’s popular podcast series.
David started collaborating on his music productions with guitarist Olivier Fabre and the two decided to turn the studio outfit into the live group - soon after Joe Tomarchio joined on keys and backing vocals.
Lek Fonq released their debut EP in 2007.
Their new Inner Rhythm EP and video is planned for release in early 2010.
