Influences
My aim is to compose & record music of very high standards that is different & has my mark, whether it be ambient mystic, Latin to techno club music or even other genres. I'm not interested in being the best at anything...I just want it to be me.........................................
ABOUT ME:
please view www.lekiwi.com I was a member of top professional New Zealand 60s bands: Le Frame, Breakaways, Underdogs, Hamul...before leaving the NZ & Australian music scene in the early 70s to pursue my own importing wholesale ventures...until the mid 90s when LA music legend & genius Arthur Lee of LOVE fame asked me to become his business advisor.
.................................
Sadly ARTHUR LEE passed on in August 3rd 2006 but left a huge music legacy. One of his better songs is called August. He did, however go out on a great high after very successful tours of Britain, Europe & the US during the last few years of his highly publicised controversial life. My song writing took a more serious turn after much encouragement from Arthur.......................................
MY HEROES:
The oppressed indigenous peoples of the world who will all rise again....and
it's coming to town near you...sooner not later...so y're all welcome to
join the peace and love train...get onboard while you can...!!! Another
interpretation of two of the great soul classics "People Get Ready" by the
irrepressible Curtis Mayfield and "Love Train" by the unstoppable Mighty
O'Jays.........................................
MY SPORTS HEROES: The ALL BLACKS, NZ's national treasure & rugby stars....the world's most successful team in the history of any sport.....support them too my good friends.
Sounds Like
I'm not interested in other sounds & styles....just mine. But I do have enormous respect & love for the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Quincy Jones, Louis Armstrong, Arthur Lee, Jimi Hendrix, The Commodores & the other pioneers who kicked the doors down & gave their great music to all the peoples of the world.
.....................................
WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET:
Likeminded souls who love life, music & having fun. "Deep within our DNA we all have our own love song; this song or prayer is the love song we've forgotten how to sing." Roughly "translated" in my own words from Mary Sparrowdancer's newly released book, The Love Song....a must read if there ever was one. The Truth is within us all....it's the place where God dwells........& it's much closer than you think

Hi Doug, Many thanks, glad you like Buried Alive. It was a real life experience turned completely around. I saw an old friend again after 27 years, and though he'd made millions and changed slightly physcially, he hadn't changed one bit really. And I found myself thinking what I'd have thought if he'd changed completely, and out came this idea! Erle wrote a song called You Didn't Change, and when I first met Erle last year I told him I'd write this opposite version one day. Hope all is good with you, take care. Tim
Hi Doug ! Thanks a lot for your kind comment ! I'm very proud to have an so far Friend ( New Zeland !) I really like your making music so ! that sound great ! I keep in touch with real pleasure ! hugs from french riviera ! Kennie
Yep everything's fine - I think I finally got rid of my stalker.:D Otherwise close to dying as it's way toooo warm over here now, which means I' m a bit stressed out as I've got a deadline on Friday and I haven't gotten as far with my work as I wanted to because of the heat. Hope you're having another good week in Europe - where have you been so far? Melanie!
Hi Doug, how's it going New lyrics Buried Alive under blog by the same name, would love to know what you think! The parts in parentheses are optional, as it's too long as usual! And please check out Survivor if you haven't done so already... Thanks! Tim

Oh, you're in Europe right now? On tour with your music or on vacation? Ah, Italy - love that country and its people, reminds me of Thailand in a way; haven't been there for ages though, have to go there again. Well then, if it's a vacation: enjoy it and hope the weather down there isn't as bad as it is in Germany right now (I feel as if I lived in Greenland...it's still so dark and cold over here....) Have a great week! Melanie!
Hey, Doug, yeah, Northern Italy...beautiful...I know someone who came back from Portofino, said it was beautiful....I guess it's not Really north, though, but they raved about sitting in same seat in the same restaurant with the same view George Clooney had the night before. Oh, well...on to McDonald's. Take care, hope you had a productive trip...with or without wine;) a.
