Lemonjello's Coffee exists to accurately & deliciously serve fairly traded coffee & espresso beverages, to provide a space that is a forum for community, and to introduce people to music that is sincere, beyond fashion, and an infusion of pop culture and artistic integrity.
COFFEE . Lemonjello's brews and sells Fair Trade coffee in partnership with Equal Exchange. Here's what we think: if you're going to drink coffee and have a chance to help some folks by doing so, why not? Fair trade means the farmers are paid more per pound by an elimination of middlemen in the buying process. Equal Exchange partners with farmer co-ops to go beyond this and work to create more sustainable growing practices and communities. Equal Exchange works with these co-ops to provide microfinancing, education, and other programs to enhance the lives of those in a typically poverty strewn industry. Read more on our fair-trade page.
MUSIC . Lemonjello’s seeks to keep our speakers spilling out as much indie label and local/regional music as possible. We want to introduce you to and encourage you to listen to working artists. We also put on concerts on Friday nights featuring some of the best local & regional artists around. We keep the cover charge cheap ($1 per artist playing) and give the artists all of the cover money. It’s our way of supporting our local music scene and giving you something to do.
LIFE . Lemonjello’s wants to be a place where life is happening. We want folks passing by to feel drawn to our space because of you and what they see inside. That can be a chat with a friend, a group meeting, some family time, talking business, working on a laptop, reading a book, or simply enjoying a drink. You might meet someone new or run into an old friend or finally have some time to yourself. These are things we need to live and the reason Lemonjello’s is about more than your drink.
