Born in Chicago, raised in music, influenced by Producer father Oscar Smith, whos background includes Walter Jackson, Jackie Wilson and the chi-lites, L.A. was lead singer of the family group The Fascination in the late eighties and went on to producing full time in the early nineties, a self taught musician, who claims you must be able to play some kind instrument to be called a true producer He formed a production team (3 tha hard way) with Mr. Lee and Mad Mike Smith who carved out hits for Dj Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (Will smith) Aaliyah, R.Kelly, tr, td Nuttin Nyce, Backstreet boys and more. After departing the team. L.A. produced a well known Chicago teen group "Subway for Michael Bivens label Biv 10 and became part of the Biv Ten family, when it was short lived he joined the Motown label as a resident producer with the help of Steve cook as a partner and close friend. Who also introduced him to Mogul Entertainment attorney Londell McMillan. who later signed to his music publishing team North star and cranked out hits for Doug E fresh, Total and a life long relationship with New Yorks finest Dangerous. After moving from Chicago to New Jersey to Brooklyn New York. L.As services were required for the Jenny Jones show and a list of other projects. One of which he produced a remake intended for Chantay savage that ended up with TVT artist Latanya and lending his sound to Johnny P, M-Doc, Rhyme, Inna City Boyz .Pyscho Drama and Public Announcement earning him a Platinum record and a list of upcoming singers and rappers that craved his sound. He resurrected the Rap-a-lot rap group Snypaz and brought together the Midwest invasion with Layzie Bone and Twista. That ended their publicized beef. He then joined the famed Rap-a-lot family as a producer and then went on to score the surprised cult film Crime Partners
With Ice T ,Snoop Dogg and Tyrin Turner Later. He and a partner Akin Ojo developed the sound of poetry rap with WEA artist Question He then went on to work with Denero records late founder Kato, and donated a mass of hits one including Joey Crack the don Fat Joe He brought together the friendship between DMX and Kato that was publicized nationally before his passing. L.A moved on to produce songs for Canadian artist Delihla and R&B crooner Wade o Brown. For years hes always been sought after by the likes of Missy Elliot, The Hit men, and Etc. but he remains true to the quality of his craft. Hes currently lending his sound to the Oprah Winfrey show and/is co-founder of the new 8th wonder entertainment company that is wreaking havoc in the Midwest. L.A travels to different cities for industry music conferences and occasionally he finds a rare talent. Making headlines with a host of Magazines and news papers including Murder dog & XXL. The sound of Lemoyne Alexander is yet to be heard. 2009 is a big year for L.A. he's producing the upcoming Movie "Rebecca" for next fall He just co-wrote a song for K-Ci and JoJo "Truly" with Darryl Anthony and the title track for upcoming movie "JADA" with NY's Finest "Dangerous" He just finished the remix for Mary J. Blige, He's working with , a collection of hip hop and soulful ballads, while taking the time out to develop a new song for Copenhagen Rock, and Vincent Van Go Go. He just wrapped up long awaited jazz album "Take This Ride" for Dave Sereny(Nominated for song of the year) featuring Warren Hill, Bob James, and Wayman Tisdale.
