Advertising/Digital Technology As digital technology continues to grow and become more complex, employers in virtually every industry are seeking employees that have higher level computer-related expertise and technical skills. Lenape Tech's Advertising/Digital Technology program developes skills in using the computer as a production tool. By combining concepts of advertising, art and design with innovative technology, students will be inspired to creatively improve the way people are experiencing and interacting with information. Students explore multimedia technology, computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, and Internet technology. They use digital and stock photography, edit images, design computer and advertising. Students create digital videos, audio, animation, develop websites, and televised announcements. Students prepare for continuing their study in related fields after high school, and may receive advanced standing at certain postsecondary schools. Allied Health/Sports Medicine Lenape Tech's Allied Health/Sports Medicine program is for students considering a career in the health field. If you like to work with people, do things for others, and have an interest in learning more about the human body and how it funtions, a rewarding career in the AHSM field may be in your future. Upon successful completion of the AHSM program, students may be eligible to take the State Nurse's Aide Certification Exam. Several post-secondary institutions will offer advanced standings to graduates. Basic anatomy and physiology are emphasized in the program, and medical terminology and abbreviations standard in the health field are taught. Training includes classroom study and clinical experience at a long-term care facility and an acute-care facility. Clinical observations are also made at rehabilitation facilities, physical therapy clinics, and sports medicine settings. The Sports Medicine component of the program presents anatomy, physiology, and other traditional areas of the Allied Health curriculum also focuses on injury prevention through flexibility and conditioning, as well as injury treatment and the rehabilitative process. Auto Tech If you like to work with engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical aspects of the automotive world - then maybe it's time to "get your motor running" in Lenape Tech's Auto Tech program! Lenape Tech is one of the selected few technical high schools in Pennsylvania that can offer students hands-on training in areas of ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) approved instruction. Lenape also participates in the nationally recognized Automotive Youth Educational System (AYES) which collaborates with industry to provide summer internships. Today's automotive technology field offers a clean, high-tech work environment instead of the "greasy garage" environment of the past. Lenape Tech's Auto Tech program provides students with the training, skills, and reasoning ability to work in the fast-paced, challenging professional environment.Music
BioMedical Technology Whether your career goal is to be a physician, forensic technician, phlebotomist, or any medical career, Lenape's BioMedical Technology program can prepare you for the future! The program gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience that prepares them for postsecondary education or work in virtually any health or science field. BioMed offers experience in medical terminology, procedures, methods, and equipment. It also gives hands-on experience in clinical chemistry, urinalysis, DNA matching, blood typing, and several other areas. Culinary Arts Have you ever dreamed of living and working in the most exotic places in the world? Do you like making people, working in a fast-paced and creative environment, and being able to travel? If you've answered "yes" to any or all of these questions - a career in Culinary Arts and the Food and Beverage Idustry may be for you! Join a great tradition of excellence in Lenape Tech's Culinary Arts program where you will learn the fundamentals of a trade that will get you started in field that employs nearly 11 million people annually. With a resturant as your classroom and a kitchen as your lab, you'll receive the kind of hands-on training that will allow you to expand your horizons and acheive personal satisfaction and professional success. Culinary Arts students receive training in management, menu planning, catering school and community functions, merchandising, garde mange, and safety and sanitation. Upon successful completion of the National Restaurant Association ServSafe course, students can be nationally certified in safety and sanitation. Carpentry/Construction Technology The construction industry is the largest industry in the world. Skilled carpenders and construction technology workers are in demand as new residential and commercial construction increases. Upon successful completion of the National Home Builders Association (NHBA) Curriculim, Lenape Tech students can work in the field, or go on to postsecondary education. After appropriate testing, they can also enter the apprenticeship program through the Carpenters Union. Emphasis is placed on building layout, rough framing, roof construction, exterior finishing, door and window installation, and interior finishing. Students also become familiar with safety regulations, learn how to read blueprints, and are trained in to use of power tools.Movies
Computer Information Technology Lenape Tech's Computer Information Technology program trains students to be computer technicians, as well as other IT-related positions. In the "information age, " computers are evolving in all phases of technology, facilitating worldwide communication. With a strong CIT background, students are prepared to work in many technology field and to attend post-secondary education in engineering or computer related fields. The CIT program consistently upgrades the curriculum to stay current with industry standards. Students are prepared to take A+, Network+, Server+ certification exams. Cosmetology If you have a creative flair, a vibrant personallity, and scientific curiosity, then Lenape Tech's Cosmetology program may be for you. The Cosmetology program promotes creativity and teamwork, while providing students with all the basic skills that a cosmetologist needs to be successful in a salon. The field combines talent, art, science, and business, leading to a rewarding career for many students. Cosmetology students create styles, cut and color hair, apply makeup and skin care treatments, perform manicures and pedicures, manage the Cosmetology Clinic schedule appointments, otder supplies, rotate stock, and compute payroll. Lenape Tech's Cosmetology curriculum is approved by the PA State Board of Cosmetology. Curriculum recommendations also come from the Occupational Advisory Committee and the NCA of PA (National Cosmetology Association of Pennsylvania). The Cosmetology program prepares students for the PA State Board licensing exams. Collision Repair Technology How can you become an expert "body builder" without ever setting foot in the gym? Try Lenape Tech's Collision Repair Technology program! The CRT program provides students with the latest vehical restoration skills necessary for employment in this fast-growing field. Students use state-of-the-art equipment and participate in on-site visits to factory training centers and independent auto body shops. Co-op students have the opportunity to work at new car dealerships, independent auto body shops, and auto parts or manufacturing plants, which can lead to full-time employment. Lenape Tech's CRT program has adopted NATEF training standards as an integral part of its curriculum. NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) is the recognized authority on the educational needs of automotive training to meet industry requirements.Television
Environmental Controls Technology Interested in a cool field that's really hot? Lenape Tech's Environmental Controls Technology program might be right for you. More than 50, 000 new jobs are created every year across the country for skilled environmental controls technicians. Today's heating and air conditioning systems control the temperature, humidity, quality, and quantity of air.Upon successful completion of the ECT program, students can obtain immediate employment in the field, or continue to post-secondary education. Students are trained in technical knowledge and skills to install, repair, and maintain commercial and domestic heating, cooling, refrigeration, electrical services, and control systems. The ECT program offers nationally recognized certification through the Industry Competency Exam (ICE) and Refrigerant Management 608 EPA certification. Natural Resources Technology Do you enjoy the outdoors and learning about the environment and management of our natural resources? Are you interested in horticulture and landscape design? Then maybe the Natural Resources Technology program is for you? Instruction takes place in the classroom lab, educational greenhouse, and the outdoor land facility. Through theory and hands-on applications, students will learn the fundamentals of ecology, parks and land management, landscape and design, as well as skills in carpentry and welding. Students graduating from Lenape Techs's NRT program have a variety of post-secondary options from earning 2-year associate's degrees from technical schools and community colleges in Forestry and Landscape Management to 4-year baccalaureate degrees in Animal Bioscience and Agriculture. OptoElectronics and Engineering Technology Lenape Tech's OptoElectronics Engineering Technology program prepares students to design, construct, and test Electronic and ElectroOptical circuitry. These circuits are used in Optical Night-Vision Scopes, laser scanning equipment, Global Positioning Satellites, and a wide range of medical, automotive, and consumer electronics products. The course begins with the study of DC and AC Electronic Circuits. Students then progress into the design and construction of transistor and integrated ciruitry. Digital electronic circuits are constructed and tested using meters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment used in the field of Electronics and the Electro-Optics industry. OptoElectronics Technology students must take a Physics component that consists of two advanced level courses: Geometric Optics and Introduction to Electro-Optics. These dual enrollment courses award students college credit upon successful completion.Books
CADD/Pre-Engineering Technology If you like using your creativity to design new things and watch them develop, then Lenape Tech's CADD/Pre-Engineering Technology program may be the right place for you. Students in the program use state-of-the-art technology to create detailed drawings that meet industry standards. The pre-engineering component of the also incorporates advanced concepts and equipment designed to better prepare students to enter college in the engineering field. Students see their designs come to life through the use of new 3-D modeling equipment that can take computer-generated designs and convert them to three-dimensional replicas that serve as prototypes. Lenape Tech's CADD/PET program partners with local industry, providing students with valuable real world experience. CADD/PET students also have the opportunity to work on the integrated projects with students in the other Lenape Tech programs. Lenape Tech's certification with American Design & Drafting Association for Apprentice Drafting, allows students to obtain an ADDA apprentice certificate upon graduation. Lenape Tech also has articulation agreements for Pre-Engineering and Drafting/Design with several post-secondary institutions including Butler County Community College and California University of Pennsylvania. Precision Machining Technology If you are intrested in a field that is in high demand, has a good pay scale and great benefits, come be a part of Lenape Tech's Precision Machining program. Precision machine shops offer clean, high-tech work environments, and skilled machinists have lifelong career opportunities. Precision Machining students receive training on advanced machines and lathes, along with electrical discharge, wire cut, and die sinker equipment. Students learn basic skills in manual and conputerized machining, and are trained in state-of-the-art technology, such as: Computer Aided Drafting/Computer Aided Machining (CAD/CAM) ; Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) ; Electronic Discharge Machining (EDM) ; Waterjet. The Precision Machining program utilizes curricula based on the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA), and the National Istitute of Metalworking Standards (NIMS) to ensure that information being taught is current and the industry standard. Welding Technology Almost everything we see - from buildings and bridges to airplanes and race cars - includes a welded component. And in every instance, it took a trained welding professional to "make the sparks fly." Lenape Tech's Welding Technology program offers students the opportunity to gain the skills they need to obtain employment in the welding industy. If you like to work with your hands and have a lot of eye-hand coordination, welding may be for you. Students are trained in layout, drafting patterns, cut and form parts, and welding and fabricating items according to specifications. Students can also obtain an American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification upon completion of required testing. Students learn the skills needed to gain employment or to continue their education in welding or other fields, such as engineering, manufacturing, construction, teaching, inspection, research, or underwater welding. **NEW THIS YEAR** Law Enforcement Information Technology Criminal Justice is one of America's fastest-growing career fields. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for correctional officers, law enforcement officers, and security officers is projected to increase as much as 35% through 2010. Lenape Tech's Law Enforcement Information Technology program is designed to provide training for students in the following areas of study of public safety and homeland security: law enforcement, the legal system, and basic emergency medical services. Completion of the two-year program prepares students for a career, or entrance to postsecondary education in the areas of Law Enforcement (state, county, or municipal), Private Security, Criminal Investigations, Corrections Officer, Probation Officers and Parole Officer. Graduates of Lenape Tech's LEIT program will have earned certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and NOAD Priority Dispatcher Emergency Tele-Communicator.
