„The Kiss the Hope“ is rough, confusing, intimate.
Six years after the debut “solace”, which brought Lengsel much respect, now the new album is released. The three guys from Birkeland, seem to put all their musical extremes on one album. Despite the wide stylistic range, “the Kiss the Hope” is a coherent piece of extreme music which is understandable only as a whole.
If you are ready to dig into it, you’ll be surrounded by mean walls of garage metal buildings which collapse over and over and stream into valleys of delusive silence. In a melancholic mood the songs range from experimental metal, new wave inspired passages to fragile soundscapes.
This album takes time but rewards the listener with a journey into new worlds. No care for genres or short term accessibility. You’ll experience darkness and fight yourself a way out.
And then… the night’s over. The Kiss. The Hope.

Hei igjen ! Jeg Helge synes den tiden rundt 1990-1994 hadde noe ved seg. Kanskje blir man aldri så naiv og kreativ igjen. Synes alltid sigurd og berg brødrene hadde noe spesielt over seg. Har finegans wake kasetten med bla Java. Har selv endel mer eller mindre lugubre Lasaruz opptak som jeg kan sende på mp3. Har idag endel kontakt med Sigurd som fremdeles lager bra låter.
