Hi, Im Leni DiMancari from the Bad Animals: A Tribute to Heart . Im blessed to be able to perform the music of one of the greatest female fronted Rock Acts of all time. It's a really cool gig, and I rediscovered my love for their music while performing in the Heart tribute. We are on our 5th tour with The Bad Animals- A Tribute to Heart, entitled 'Wild Angels'.
I havn't always done the Heart Tribute, although it's one of my favorite things that I've done in the past 23 years. I did a bunch of recording throughout the 80's and early 90's with several well known musicians and well known bands from the Twin Cities, Chicago, and the Bay Area and came up with over a dozen Cds, albums and Cassettes that are floating around out there.
I was very lucky to meet the right people at the right time and fortunately had the majority of projects on Indie Labels, with a few that sold well, and a few that didn't sell sh*t. Im proud to say that I've been a part of 3 different projects that have been nominated for Mn Music Awards (for a total of 7 Nominations and 2 awards), including the most recent nominations for The Bad Animals in 2006 for Best Cover Band & Tribute Band.
There were alot of lucky breaks, and they helped get a chance to record with members of Y&T, Montrose, LeMans , Cacophony, Head East, Humble Pie, Dare Force, Slave Raider and Accept. I was the founding member of Atlantic recording artist Hericane Alice, but left to pursue a solo career and was on my 3rd solo record prior to their release, and never looked back. I love what I do now and hope it never ends, but eventually it might.
The music business is one of the hardest things in the world to break into, so after a long time living off of smack ramen, sleeping in a van, eating cheap and digesting the occasional Jack in the box taco special, I gave in and found a great day gig.
Since coming out of retirement, I've had more fun and a new found respect for musicians and the circuit that we are fortunate to play up here. Its been a fun ride at times, and over the past 23 years , we've had the pleasure of sharing the bill with Ratt, Dokken, Warrant, Starship, Night Ranger, The Guess Who, Ted Nugent, Toto, the Moody Blues, Quiet Riot, Poison, Sweet, Sebastian Bach, Humble Pie, Molly Hatchet, Great White and the legendary Bobby V.
Its a thrill to be able to meet and play along side of your musical heros after growing up watching them play. Life does bring you full circle sometimes, and I feel very lucky to be able to perform still. Every day, I thank God for the gifts he has given, and the tools to perform.
I love music and it has always been a part of my life. Nothing in the world compares to the feeling you get when you are performing, especially when you look out at all of those teeth and eyes. Since 1982 to now, tis been an interesting journey and it doesn't seem to want to stop any time soon. In the words of David Coverdale,"I dont know where Im going, but I sure know where I've been." Hi Leni DiMancari! Heaven & Earth is on hiatus now as Stuart Smith and Richie Onori have joined forces with bassist Steve Priest to reform "Sweet". For those of you unfamiliar with the band, Sweet originally formed in the early 70s and went on to sell over 40,000,000 albums with 11 International Top Ten Hits such as "Ballroom Blitz", "Little Willy", "Love is Like Oxygen", "Fox on the Run", "Teenage Rampage", "Action", "Blockbuster", "Hellraiser" and many others.
This reincarnation of the band reformed last year, playing their first show in June, and went on to play festivals throughout Canada and the States and had played to over 300,000 people before the year was out. During this tour last year they recorded a live CD available on Amazon entitled "Sweet, Live in America" which has received rave reviews - pick up a copy and please Add Sweet As Your Friend On Myspace!

We are debuting a project called Sonic Transformations. Every month or so we will present a new audio-visual performance based on a different theme/story. We will be collaborating with artists and other creative musicians along the way so let us know if you have something you'd want to bring into this project.
The first in the series is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". Live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. It will be a musical adventure, and we hope that you can come participate :)

Hi this is just a note to let you know that my band "The Three Man Salute To Pink Floyd" will be playing three shows this month, first a stripped down shorter set at the Stars & Strikes in Wyoming MN. on Sunday July 19th at 8:30, and one at the LCO Casino in Hayward WI. on Thursday July 23rd. at 8:00 and the other at Neisen's in Savage MN. on Saturday July 25th at 10:00. The Neisen's show is the first time I've ever done a show completely using all of my own equipment ( P.A., Lights, etc...) and it will be our first twin cities metro area concert so please help spread the word and help make it a huge success.
