Hey dude's , I remember and still like the great local Philly & tri-state area rock bands from the past... The A's ( 42nd Street ) , The Hooters ( Baby Grand ) , Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers , Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes , George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers , Bon Jovi , Britny Fox , Tangier , Cinderella , Teeze ( Roughhouse ) Napalm Sunday... and of course Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band... plus many other great local Philadelphia area bands from the 1970's , 80's and early 90's , some of which the rest of the world will or may never get the pleasure of hearing or have seen play live .
I like mostly Rock'n'Roll... but I'm into almost any kind of music beside's Rap & Opera , hey I dig SWING Music from the Big Bands from the 1940's . But I still love my METAL music even as I get older... music keeps me young and make's life worth living in a lot of ways !
I have my "back in the day" favorite bands from the 60's and 70's plus my newer favorite bands , 80's to NOW... some BANDS go from the 70's to the 80's .
I can not say who I like better between the BEATLES and ELVIS as my All Time Favorite , I'll just go with ELVIS for the 50's / Solo Artist and the BEATLES for the 60's / Band . I also like a lot of the Beatles solo stuff and as for the BEATLES music... well I always liked their very early songs the best , like before they did any kind of drugs and seen " Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds " .
In the 1970's one of my top favorites was a band called THIN LIZZY ( Cool vocals with a mean twin guitar sound ) , I also was into and still dig the early albums from the 60's / 70's of artist like... RUSH , UFO , C.C.R. , GRAND FUNK RAILROAD , The DOORS , 3 DOG NIGHT , LED ZEPPELIN , DEEP PURPLE , BLACK SABBATH , The ROLLING STONES , FREE , MOUNTAIN , DAVID BOWIE , ALICE COOPER , JIMI HENDRIX , JEFF BECK , NEIL YOUNG , ERIC CLAPTON , TOMMY BOLIN , GLENN HUGHES , ROD STEWART , TODD RUNDGREN , The WHO , PINK FLOYD , YES , The KINKS , BLUE OYSTER CULT , JOHNNY RIVERS , BUDDY HOLLY , DION , RICKY NELSON , ROY ORBISON ( this guy couldn't sing anything bad even if he wanted to ) , B.J.THOMAS , GORDON LIGHTFOOT , ROBERT GORDON , and yes even TOM JONES , he's one cool MoFo dude... DUANE EDDY , DICK DALE , LINK WRAY , The VENTURES , all surf Guitar... how come it took me many many years before I found out about The MONKS ( a 60's group ahead of their time... bands today could learn something from their sound , whats old is new again ) .
I like lots of MOTOWN , LEVI STUBS of The FOUR TOPS is one of the most soulful singer ever , he's a vocalist who sings from the heart... just a powerful voice . I dig The TEMPTATIONS , The SUPREMES with Miss ROSS , DONNA SUMMERS , early STEVIE WONDER , BARRY WHITE , MARVIN GAYE , JERRY BUTLER , ELLA FITZGERALD ( sweet voice ) , DIONNE WARWICK . I really love the voice of CURTIS MAYFIELD solo or with his group The IMPRESSTIONS... he was one SUPER FLY Dude , ARRON NEVILLE ( wow what a Vioce ) , AL GREEN , SMOKEY ROBINSON And The MIRACLES ( Smokey's the man ) , GLADYS KNIGHT was and is a very under rated Queen Of Soul... with or without her PIPS... plus there's all the DOO WOP Groups of the late 1950's and early 60's and some other old groups and artist that I like... The EVERLY BROTHERS , The RONETTES , JAY And The AMERICANS ( Jay Black always had a super voice ) , GERRY And The PACEMAKERS , DAVE CLARK FIVE ( Mike Smith on vocals ) , The BEACH BOYS ( with all the Wilson Brothers ) , GARY LEWIS and the PLAYBOYS , The MAMAS and the PAPAS , The BEE GEES , SIMON and GARFUNKEL , JIM CROCE , JAMES TAYLOR , early BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN , JOHNNY CASH , JIMMY CLIFF , THIRD WORLD , JOHN LEE HOOKER , B.B. KING , BUDDY GUY , MUDDY WATERS , R.L. BURNSIDE , JAMES COTTON , JUNIOR WELLS , LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS , ROOMFULL OF BLUES , GEORGE BENSON and many , many more... Yes I even like DEAN MARTIN , NAT KING COLE , TONY BENNETT , FRANKIE LAINE and JIMMY ROSELLI... there's just so many , I could go on and on... to really enjoy music your whole life , you must open yourself up to all types... some you will just like , some you will love... but be open minded when it comes to listening or playing MUSIC .

DETECTIVE , FLO and EDDIE ( from the Turtles ) , NITE CITY ( Ray M. keyboard player of the Doors band ) , The EARL SLICK BAND and a few other's like BACKSTREET CRAWLER , The BUSBOYS , The GOOD RATS , BE BOP DELUXE ( Bill Nelson cool ass Guitar player ) there's many other's , some are from the 70's and early 80's... I dig the Guitar , I love hearing it talk . As I got older I heard the Guitar doing it's talking more in the blues... so I dig the mix of Rock & the Blues alot today , I also love the NOISE... aka feedback with the Guitar like NEIL YOUNG does on the TRANSFORMER album .
Some bands from the 80's up to today music that I like are... well one of my all-time favorite bands is from the 1990's called... CONCRETE BLONDE ( there is not too much that they could do wrong in my eyes - very super talented lead female vocalist / bass player / songwriter... cool guitar work - a sound different then whatever else was out there ) , The SMITHEREENS ( cool band with nice Guitar and Vocals , another under rated band ) , The TOURIST ( cool band with some really good Guitar and Vocals , it's Annie & Dave before they became The Eurythmics ) , The STRAY CATS ( rock-a-billy music is just plain fun... it grooves... it moves... it swings - no killing... no rape... no drugs... OK so maybe a beer or two... but it's just rock n'roll ) , The B-52's ( it took me a long time to like this band , but they grow on you plus the cool Guitar sound and female vocals stick in your head ) , OINGO BOINGO ( aka Danny Elfman's Band ) , 999 , GENERATION-X , SPLIT ENZ , SWING OUT SISTER , The FIXX , FLOCK OF SEAGULLS , The REPLACEMENTS , The PRETENDERS , The BLASTERS ( a under rated band... I love rock-a-billy rock'n'roll ) , EDDIE MONEY , ALDO NOVA , ULTRAVOX , INXS ( Mike H. was a one of a kind vocalist ) , R.E.M. , DURAN DURAN , LOVERBOY , some PRINCE ( the "Artist" can play a mean Guitar when he wants to ) , LISA STANSFIELD , WALTER EGAN ( his biggest hit was... There's so many... I have favorites that I break up into era's , there's the Old Classic's ( 1930's thur 1960's ) and then My Modern Favorites ( 1970's to the present ) . I will have 2 list here , one will be... AFTER 1970 and the other... BEFORE 1970 . Hey try and see a movie called "Get Crazy" , as of Feb. 2008 it's not on DVD... if your lucky you may find a copy on VHS tape . It's a cool funny movie about the last show at a venue that is closing , you'll see these people in small role's... Lou Reed , Flo & Eddie from the Turtles , Lee Ving from Fear... it's a must see film for a music fan... even for the "non-head" people out there like me , it made me laff !!!

I like watching TCM... aka Turner Classic Movies , but when they don't have anything on any good or that I have seen 263 times , I'll watch some of the TV show's below !!!

I like reading magazines without alot of ads... I can't read a book unless I read it all at once , I don't care for reading a page today... 5 pages tomorrow , half the book by next month... and then finishing the book 3 months later... I'll wait for the movie :)
