Hey dude's , I remember and still like the great local Philly & tri-state area rock bands from the past... The A's ( 42nd Street ) , The Hooters ( Baby Grand ) , Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers , Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes , George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers , Bon Jovi , Britny Fox , Tangier , Cinderella , Teeze ( Roughhouse ) Napalm Sunday... and of course Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band... plus many other great local Philadelphia area bands from the 1970's , 80's and early 90's , some of which the rest of the world will or may never get the pleasure of hearing or have seen play live .
I like mostly Rock'n'Roll... but I'm into almost any kind of music beside's Rap & Opera , hey I dig SWING Music from the Big Bands from the 1940's . But I still love my METAL music even as I get older... music keeps me young and make's life worth living in a lot of ways !
I have my "back in the day" favorite bands from the 60's and 70's plus my newer favorite bands , 80's to NOW... some BANDS go from the 70's to the 80's .
I can not say who I like better between the BEATLES and ELVIS as my All Time Favorite , I'll just go with ELVIS for the 50's / Solo Artist and the BEATLES for the 60's / Band . I also like a lot of the Beatles solo stuff and as for the BEATLES music... well I always liked their very early songs the best , like before they did any kind of drugs and seen " Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds " .
In the 1970's one of my top favorites was a band called THIN LIZZY ( Cool vocals with a mean twin guitar sound ) , I also was into and still dig the early albums from the 60's / 70's of artist like... RUSH , UFO , C.C.R. , GRAND FUNK RAILROAD , The DOORS , 3 DOG NIGHT , LED ZEPPELIN , DEEP PURPLE , BLACK SABBATH , The ROLLING STONES , FREE , MOUNTAIN , DAVID BOWIE , ALICE COOPER , JIMI HENDRIX , JEFF BECK , NEIL YOUNG , ERIC CLAPTON , TOMMY BOLIN , GLENN HUGHES , ROD STEWART , TODD RUNDGREN , The WHO , PINK FLOYD , YES , The KINKS , BLUE OYSTER CULT , JOHNNY RIVERS , BUDDY HOLLY , DION , RICKY NELSON , ROY ORBISON ( this guy couldn't sing anything bad even if he wanted to ) , B.J.THOMAS , GORDON LIGHTFOOT , ROBERT GORDON , and yes even TOM JONES , he's one cool MoFo dude... DUANE EDDY , DICK DALE , LINK WRAY , The VENTURES , all surf Guitar...
I like lots of MOTOWN , LEVI STUBS of The FOUR TOPS is one of the most soulful singer ever , he's a vocalist who sings from the heart... just a powerful voice . I dig The TEMPTATIONS , The SUPREMES with Miss ROSS , DONNA SUMMERS , early STEVIE WONDER , BARRY WHITE , MARVIN GAYE , JERRY BUTLER , ELLA FITZGERALD ( sweet voice ) , DIONNE WARWICK . I really love the voice of CURTIS MAYFIELD solo or with his group The IMPRESSTIONS... he was one SUPER FLY Dude , ARRON NEVILLE ( wow what a Vioce ) , AL GREEN , SMOKEY ROBINSON And The MIRACLES ( Smokey's the man ) , GLADYS KNIGHT was and is a very under rated Queen Of Soul... with or without her PIPS... plus there's all the DOO WOP Groups of the late 1950's and early 60's and some other old groups and artist that I like... The EVERLY BROTHERS , The RONETTES , JAY And The AMERICANS ( Jay Black always had a super voice ) , GERRY And The PACEMAKERS , DAVE CLARK FIVE ( Mike Smith on vocals ) , The BEACH BOYS ( with all the Wilson Brothers ) , GARY LEWIS and the PLAYBOYS , The MAMAS and the PAPAS , The BEE GEES , SIMON and GARFUNKEL , JIM CROCE , JAMES TAYLOR , early BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN , JOHNNY CASH , JIMMY CLIFF , THIRD WORLD , JOHN LEE HOOKER , B.B. KING , BUDDY GUY , MUDDY WATERS , R.L. BURNSIDE , JAMES COTTON , JUNIOR WELLS , LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS , ROOMFULL OF BLUES , GEORGE BENSON and many , many more... Yes I even like DEAN MARTIN , NAT KING COLE , TONY BENNETT , FRANKIE LAINE and JIMMY ROSELLI... there's just so many , I could go on and on... to really enjoy music your whole life , you must open yourself up to all types... some you will just like , some you will love... but be open minded when it comes to listening or playing MUSIC .
I hope I don't list a Band or Artist more then once... I'm losing track of who's on my list everytime I go to add to it ! ! !
Some more from the 70's are... The DWIGHT TWILLEY BAND , RICK DERRINGER plus his band called DERRINGER , CHICAGO , CROSBY , STILLS and NASH ( with and without NEIL YOUNG ) , JETHRO TULL , early BILLY JOEL before he went pop , very early ELTON JOHN before he went too pop , VAN MORRISON , early JOE JACKSON , SANTANA , The STEVE MILLER BAND , QUEEN , KANSAS , VAN HALEN , E.L.O. , APRIL WINE , AMERICA , BREAD , LYNYRD SKYNYRD , The ALLMAN BROTHERS , The EAGLES , SUPERTRAMP , AEROSMITH , BOB SEGER and the SILVER BULLET BAND , BAD COMPANY ( with Paul Rogers ) , TED NUGENT , FLEETWOOD MAC , SWEET , FOGHAT , CHEAP TRICK , STYX , The RAMONES , The BABYS , ANGEL , AC/DC , KISS , ASIA , RAINBOW , BILLY SQUIER , GEORGE THOROGOOD , The TALKING HEADS ( it took me a while to like this band but they grow on you over time ) , The DICTATORS , PATTI SMITH , GRAHAM PARKER and the RUMOR plus there's a few more lesser known bands that I liked , a couple were called... DETECTIVE , FLO and EDDIE ( from the Turtles ) , NITE CITY ( Ray M. keyboard player of the Doors band ) , The EARL SLICK BAND and a few other's like BACKSTREET CRAWLER , The BUSBOYS , The GOOD RATS , BE BOP DELUXE ( Bill Nelson cool ass Guitar player ) there's many other's , some are from the 70's and early 80's... I dig the Guitar , I love hearing it talk . As I got older I heard the Guitar doing it's talking more in the blues... so I dig the mix of Rock & the Blues alot today , I also love the NOISE... aka feedback with the Guitar like NEIL YOUNG does on the TRANSFORMER album .
Some bands from the 80's up to today music that I like are... well one of my all-time favorite bands is from the 1990's called... CONCRETE BLONDE ( there is not too much that they could do wrong in my eyes - very super talented lead female vocalist / bass player / songwriter... cool guitar work - a sound different then whatever else was out there ) , The SMITHEREENS ( cool band with nice Guitar and Vocals , another under rated band ) , The TOURIST ( cool band with some really good Guitar and Vocals , it's Annie & Dave before they became The Eurythmics ) , The STRAY CATS , The B-52's ( it took me a long time to like this band , but they grow on you plus the cool Guitar sound and female vocals ) , OINGO BOINGO ( aka Danny Elfman's Band ) , 999 , GENERATION-X , SPLIT ENZ , SWING OUT SISTER , The FIXX , FLOCK OF SEAGULLS , The REPLACEMENTS , The PRETENDERS , The BLASTERS ( a under rated band... I love rock-a-billy rock'n'roll ) , EDDIE MONEY , ALDO NOVA , ULTRAVOX , INXS ( Mike H. was one of a kind vocalist ) , R.E.M. , DURAN DURAN , LOVERBOY , some PRINCE ( the "Artist" can play a mean Guitar when he wants to ) , LISA STANSFIELD , WALTER EGAN ( his biggest hit was... Magnet & Steel ) , early ELVIS COSTELLO with The Attractions , early HALL and OATES ( I liked when they would both sing lead on a song - you had the high voice from Hall and then there was the deep one from John Oates... cool , they were real "righteous" when they wanted to be ) , EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL , JOAN JETT , LITA FORD , JEWEL , MELISSA ETHERIDGE , BRYAN ADAMS , SEAL , BOB MARLEY , MAXIE PRIEST , OZZY OSBOURNE , DIO , IRON MAIDEN , JUDAS PRIEST , LOUDNESS , ANNIHILATOR , W.A.S.P. , WHITESNAKE , DOKKEN , MEGADETH , METALLICA , SOUNDGARDEN , TOM PETTY & The HEARTBREAKERS , The TRAVELING WILBURYS , JOHN "Cougar" MELLENCAMP , U2 , The CRANBERRIES , PAT BENATAR , STEVIE NICKS ( the voice of a Angel ) , LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM ( I love his Guitar playing ) , STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN , GARY HOEY , JOE SATRIANI , JOSHUA PERAHIA , The ROBERT CRAY BAND , BILLY IDOL , SKID ROW , GUNS'N'ROSES , SCORPIONS , QUEENSRYCHE , The CURE , ENUFF Z'NUFF , D-GENERATION , The COUNTING CROWS , NIRVANA , STONE TEMPLE PILOTS , ALICE IN CHAINS , PEARL JAM , LIVE , The DAVE MATTHEWS BAND , The CORRS , CHRIS ISSAK ( he's one kool dude ) , GREEN DAY , BUSH , GARBAGE , HOLE , FOO FIGHTERS , GOO GOO DOLLS , OASIS , SMASHING PUMPKINS , WEEZER , EVERCLEAR , SUM 41 , MARILYN MANSON , COLDPLAY , JONNY LANG , JOHN MAYER , JAMES BLUNT , TEGAN and SARA ( love their vocals ) , The DARKNESS , The VINES , The HIVES , The KILLERS , WOLFMOTHER , The DOLLYROTS , The SWORD... and yes I do think MADONNA can sing . Plus there's this one band who is way cool called... DREDD ZEPPELIN , they do Led Zeppelin songs with a REGGAE style with the vocalist singing them in a ELVIS PRESLEY style .
I will have more INFO on the music and bands that I like added here later...

Above is a slide show with CD's I need to get rid of.....
Now here is some INFO on me , I'm just ME... just a guy who love's life... who has a weird , child like and or sometimes perverted sense of humor , but most of us need that... when I say that , I mean HUMOR... because sometimes if your going to try and be happy in this world of our's today , HUMOR make's it just a little easier .
For the most part , I'm a honest guy... that is without trying to hurt someones feelings... there is a time and place for being honest to someones face , like when they buy a pair of shoes that look like a clown would wear or a hair cut that looks like a blind person did it ( not that there is anything wrong with that ) . Once a friend or family member needs me to be honest... I will , I just don't like to tell lies... I feel they will at some point of someones life will come back and get you !
I like to take picture's , listen to music , watch movies and sports along with a few other things .
I use to have a indoor flea market spot at a place called The Big T Indoor Flea Market , then it change it's name to The Big Tioga Indoor Flea Market in Port Richmond . It was at the corner of Tioga and Almond Streets , my place in there was called " ROCK-IT Compact Disc " , I sold new and used CD's , T-Shirt's , Patches , Sticker's and all types of other Music Collectibles .
I was in there for about 7 years and open just Saturday & Sunday's... and before that I had a little store on the 3100 block of Gaul Street in the same area called " I Had That " , selling Sports Cards and Toy Collectibles with my brother... and then when he had enough , my friend Ray .
Some of you on my space from Philadelphia may know me from there or from seeing me at some Club's in Northeast Philly taking Picture's of Local Band's .

CD slide show below.....
I have to tell everyone that I like to sing along to the old songs , mostly from the early 1980's back into 1940's , sometime's I feel like a 5th BEATLE... and other times it may just be a fat ELVIS or... even a white MOTOWN dude , then I may just feel like singing a DOO WOP song or two in my high Frankie Valle voice... but most of the time , I just feel like a NUT !!!
I only do this when I am alone... watch it now... I'm talking about trying to SING , if anyone heard me they would just say I suck... but I can say one thing and that is I feel good doing it ( once again I'm talking about... trying to sing ) , for some reason I think I am good at it in my own mind ( I guess because I am the only one hearing it ) . It's such a release of feelings inside to get it out in a song , a happy song , a love song , a sad song or even a pick me up kick ass rock metal song like... Rock You Like A Hurricane !!!
I can or I should say I could go through life living and saying everything out of my mouth and with my action's through a song I've heard or the words from a movie I had seen...
There is a old movie from the late 70's or early 80's called "BEING THERE" starring Peter Sellers . Great movie about someone that hasn't been out of the house or his living area in about 20-25 years . When he does go out in the real world , people think he's a genius... he doesn't know the horror of the real world , at the end ( don't read this if you want to see the movie ) he walks across a body of water , it may have been a lake or river... yes I said walks across the water !
The way I see it , it was because no one ever told him... he couldn't or he just didn't know a person couldn't , so he did it because in his mind he could... he lived in a innocent world , his own little world of TV and Books without the real horror's of the world !!!
If they would have made a part two... he was in for a big shock !
Another one of my favorite movie's is "THE BREAKFAST CLUB" , the movie has a really cool message that is true in a lot ways . The title song " Don't You Forget About Me" is what the movies is all about and it's one of my favorite songs .
As most of you already know the movie deals with some kids that really can't get along , don't like each other and are very different... but now they all have to be in school on a Saturday for a detention class .
Guess what happens... Oh yeah , I forget everybody has seen this movie !
Oh well for those who have may have missed it... these kids get to know one another and find they each have their own troubles and start to like one another and have fun in this class so it's really not a wasted Saturday... they find out that when you really get to know someone , you find you really are not that different and could be best friends... or more in some case's .
But the truth comes out... or what really happens in life but shouldn't when Judd Nelson ( one of the kids... he's the bad ass one ) comes out and says , come Monday morning we will pass each other in the hallways of this school or see each other in class and act like we don't even know each other because we are all different and come from different backgrounds... and most of all because of what our friends may think ! ! !
All I have to say is... don't judge someone because of their hair color , their clothes , their shoes , how they are built... short , tall , fat , skinny or whatever... the kind of car they have , how much money they have or what their parents look like , NO ONE is perfect... so get to know that person . Don't judge a book by it's cover !
The Rock Band Picture's above I took between 1976 and 1980... to see more that I have taken , go to... My Photo Album.com site , all PICTURES are copyrighted .

I was inspired by this and so I thought I would share it;
"Affirm to others the vision of the world you want. You are a free, immensely powerful source of life and goodness. Affirm it. Spread it. Radiate it. Think day and night about it and you will see a miracle happen: the greatness of our own life."~Robert Muller
I hope everything is cool there and your world ROCKS! Karen :)
