LennonUK is an experienced electric (and acoustic) pop band who’s music is often compared to bands such as Squeeze, Third Eye Blind (in the unsolicited review on our website "Press" page), Oasis and other primarily English pop bands. If you favor the songs of their "influences" most likely you will enjoy their music as well. Different members of the band have shared stages with notable bands such as 10,000 Maniacs, Let’s Active (Mitch Easter), and Dreams so Real (Cindy Wilson of B-52’s). LennonUK, with their trademark brand of hooky guitar based songs, has played successful shows at Club Iota (Arlington,Va), The Khyber Pass (Phila,PA), and Mojo13 (Wilmington, DE) bringing along its fanbase for support. The band performs both full band electric as well as acoustic sets.
Two pieces of news to update you with after a summer break:
1. We just taped two acoustic songs on the Tim Qualls show - you can see it on YouTube below if you didn't catch the show.
Check out "Weary" and "I Don't Mind" acoustic style! They cut the part where John Rudd puts Fabric Man in an arm bar and then a sleeper hold. Watch Chris do a keg stand on his lap snare during the interview segment if you watch in the background carefully.
2. We are playing Wed night on Aug 27 at Catherine Rooney's after 9:30 for the first of what could be many acoustic sets for us there in the coming months. I think the price is free for a change. So, if you want to start your weekend out early (hump day and almost Labor Day), come on out and have a pint in Trolley Square, diagonally across the block from the Logan House. The good news is I was told by Rooney's staff that since they are a restaurant/bar, all ages are welcome, and it is not a school night.
