A little about Myself:
I've kicked around the music bizzz since my teenager years and every day I cheerish my musical gift more and more and enjoy every minute I am blessed to be performing in front of folks. My Band-mates are like Musical-Soul-Mates...and dancers at our live shows are a huge inspiration as well.
My favorite intrument is my voice and I play guitar, bass guitar, piano/organ and ukelele.
The older I get...the more I appreciate the music from the twenties on up to today. I've performed in many of these United States and having grown up in California, much of my time has been on the West Coast. I've lived and performed in New Orleans for five years and spent some great times down on the Gulf of Mexico around Corpus Christi and South Padre Island as well. I've been a front-man, side-man and a solo artist too. I've opened up for such great artists as Rod Piazza and the Mightty Flyers, Sista Monica, Tommy Castro, Canned Heat, Wayon Jennings, Paul DeLay, Norton Buffalo and one of my Favs...James Harmon....just to mention a few.
I've also done Blues Festival Stage Managing and lots of MC work over the years and have had the pleasure to work with many of the best out on that Long Blues Highway. I've also been involved with West Coast Blues Societies for nearly twenty years now, and am honored to be a nominating and voting member of the West Coast Hall of Fame Awards Show for Blues and Soul Artists with a showcase for that event that takes place in Oakland Ca each Spring sponsored by the BABS and produced by The Inspirational Mr. Ronnie Stewart of the BABS Caravan of All-Stars. I have been a committee head, member, volunteer and elected President of a Blues Society...and give HUGE Praise to all those who help with those same efforts and the many many volunteers across these great United States, and now even in other countries, who take their precious time and give of themselves to help nurture, promote, and preserve all the great roots and blues music out there. I also give much thanks and praise and a huge shout-out to those wonderful folks that buy the tickets and attend the many blues shows across our great lands for without all of you, there is no me and performers like me and our
bandmates. Thanks for making our lives complete and we can never thank y'all enough !! Now, How About an Update on what's been going down recently...Well I am blessed as I am playin' in about three bands now. The Big Bad Boooogie Band lives on and is still alive and well. My Biggest Amount of Shows are with Lenny Blue and the Otter Guys and I am also hired out as a bass player and side-man these days with folks such as The Dan Singer Band from So-Cal playing up and down the Coast of California. I also play as a member of house bands for open-jam session nights on the Central Coast so I may see y'all out on the town for one of those nights too.
Meanwhile, back at the sushi and oyster bar, I will be adding to our calendar most of our upcoming performances at the World Famous Otter Cafe and Lounge on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay Ca and shows elsewhere here on the Pacific Coast and up in Nor-Cal too. I am looking forward to playing music for the San Luis Obisbo and Santa Barbara Ca Blues Societies as both are top-notch. I really do hope that one day I’ll meet you and your friends and family at some lively local event or club and we can boogie-woogie until the break of day. Please enjoy the music, photos and friends links here at our site and feel free to contact us with questions and perhaps even hire our band for your club, organization or event. You can contact me at: theotterguys@yahoo.com or simply send a message here on MySpace and we will get it all together and boooogie down and play some great blues for ya !!
Stay Safe and Spread Joy !
Note: I'd like to give a shout out to some of my old partners and bandmates in The Rolling Blackouts Blues Revue....a project we had for nearly seven years ending back about two years ago. We plan on a reuion of sorts and to continue to do a few live shows annually...so stay tuned for that update. So A HUGE SHOUT-OUT to Son Rey Garcia, Bruce Rowen, and Dr. Jimmie Conlin. I love and miss you guys and please do stay in touch...and come on over and play some music on the Bay-Side Scene and allow me be your host with the most on the Central Coast.
