.. Singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitar expert Lenny Molotov is originally from San Francisco. He came to New York City in the mid-1990s and became part of the "Anti-Folk" songwriters scene in the East Village. He later turned to playing Delta blues and started performing with Philly harp ace Jake Engel. Recording for the debut album "Illuminated Blues" began in 2006. In 2007, Seattle transplant bassist Jeff "JD" Wood joined the band on the upright bass completing The Lenny Molotov Trio. Ray Sapirstein's cornet added a early jazz element to the sound. The most recent member of the band is drummer Angela Webster, who also plays with Old 97s' Rhett Miller, and completes the Molotov Five line-up with her swinging rhythms. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ............ .. .. ...... -
