My teachers: Uncle Louis Smallwood, and Roy Barlag. Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Chet Atkins Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Strunz & Farah, David Gilmour, Johnny Hiland, Weather Report,..anybody that plays in tune, plays from the heart, and lifts the spirit. Paul Reed Smith and Winn Krozack have been a major influence in the maturation process of my approach to tone and luthiery. It doesn't get better than working with the best. My biggest influence is also my best influence: my wife Jeanette. She encourages me to improve, professionally, personally, and spiritually. It doesn't hurt that she's sexy too!
My name is Len Johnson. I am the Artist Relations Guitar Tech, and run the repair department for PRS guitars. I build for Santana, Al Dimeola, Dave Navarro, Johnny Hiland, Chris Henderson, Denny Jiosa, Martin Barre, Frankie Clarke, Marcos Curiel, Brett Allen, Rich Eckhardt (Toby Keith), Linkin Park, Mana, Kenny Greenberg, Paul Jackson Jr., Staind, Jon Anderson, Rusty Anderson, Mark Tremonti, and all of the major PRS artists.
It is a great honor to know that the guitars I work on are being played by the best musicians on the planet. If the hang tag on your PRS says 'LJ' that's me. I built on the line from 2000 through 2004, then I managed Final Assembly and final checked most guitars from 2004 through 2007.
Most of the music on this site is me, my guitars (PRS and an acoustic that I built) Mesa Boogie Lonestar Classic, Fender Deluxe Reverb, drum machine, some percussion, sometimes my wife Jeanette singing with me. I use a Boss BR-1200CD recorder. Myles Evans plays drums on 'Hey Lenny'. Santosh Waghmar and his wife Ashna appear on 'Namaste'.
I perform live with my country/rock/blues/etc. band,'THE BREEZE'. You can hear some of our music at:

Len, Grateful for your friendship. Your playing is awesome, you've really got command of your PRS. Do you know any reputable PRS techs that can do repairs in California? I'm in Fremont and need some re-wiring done on my Santana II. Thanks for your friendship. Mitchell Borg
Greetings from Las Vegas, Len! Thanks for the add, and congrats on your mention in the March 2009 issue of Guitar Player magazine. I like your tune called "Summer Of George, really nice.
It's cool that you work at PRS. Did you happen to build that axe the Al Di Meola was using on "Consequence Of Chaos"? I thought the finish on that guitar was very cool. I saw him live at House Of Blues here in Vegas in 2006, and he was playing that guitar at the time.
