Joey Burn's Debut 'Soundtrack' CD ~ ACRIMONY RAIN !

" Equally indebted to 'Paganini & Joe Satriani' Acrimony Rain hisses and haunts like John Carpenter's Halloween soundtrack cranked through Line 6 stacks. It's a mix of subtelty and speed, with Nashville Guitar Virtuoso 'Joey Burn' paying tribute to 'Instrumental Neo-Classical Metal' with one screaming solo after the next. But what seperates 'Joey Burn' from so many other Virtuoso's is that he's as much about atmosphere as 'arpeggios'. Blinding Fretwork is foremost here, but Burn also infuses Acrimony Rain with Gregorian Chants, icy pockets of piano, and ethereal synth. The album's centerpiece comes early, with the Shredding 'Sacred Hands', a sunless shuffle that intermingles electronics with thunderclaps of guitar. More abbreviated, but no less elaborate, are the funereal, old-world incantation 'Savage Saint' and the heretical world of, 'Acrimony Rain which raises this soundtrack's theme for the eve of the dead like a 'Halo' of spiritual fire."

KEEPING TIME ...

As with many drummers, Lenny White's career is often overshadowed by the so-called "lead" instruments in the bands of which he is a part, but as were Max Roach, Art Blakey, Tony Williams, and Billy Cobham, Lenny has also made important contributions as a skilled composer and arranger who has led a number of his own bands, and has written and produced more than 20 albums of his own.
