Gabriel is now 5 years old. What a milestone! I find myself looking back at his journey thusfar and I am so amazed! What a beautiful, intelligent, and compassionate child he is. It breaks my heart at times that he is growing up understanding life and illness as he watches his Mommy. He handles this disease so well! He is understanding that Mommy can't play or pick him up like other Mommies can. Still there are days when he asks "Mommy why do you always hurt?" My heart breaks because I still don't know how to answer that question. Then he works towards cheering me up on days that I am just down with too much pain. He does this silly face just to get me to smile and then once I am smiling he gives me the best hug and kiss. He is so filled with love that I know he is going to make a difference in the world. Just look at his smile and you know this is a child who knows how to be happy. At times he wants to be a doctor so he can grow up and make Mommy better - And at times he wants to be a racecar driver because that is SO COOL! I am very proud to be his Mommy!
Well my favorite author is Nora Roberts and her series "In Death" where she writes under the name of JD Robb. - LT. Eve Dallas and how she stands for the dead. Each book is a good read on its own or as part of the series. She writes with a twist of murder mystery, sci fi, romance, and a bit of humor is always thrown in. I love my In Death series! I have just finished her newest book "Strangers In Death". It was AWESOME as always of course!
I am looking forward to reading the new book in Janet Evanovichs line up "Fearless Fourteen". Quirky Stephanie Plum Bounty Hunter...She's a Jersey Girl like me! You just have to laugh outloud when reading her books! In this new one, that I am so looking forward to getting my hands on, she is teaming up with the sexy Ranger again to be a Body Guard for this famous woman. Of course trouble ensues for Stephanie and I can't wait to read about another car disaster!
Nicholas Sparks is another favorite of mine. My book shelf holds his novels; Dear John, Message in a Bottle, The Guardian, The Notebook, and Nights In Rodanthe.
I am on a hunt to fill out my collection of books with these three authors. Nora Roberts as herself and as JD Robb, Janet Evanovich, and Nicholas Sparks. They each give me something unique and different. If I want to laugh out loud till tears form in my eyes then I pick up Janet Evanovich. If I want to grab a tissue and feel my heart being squeezed then I pick up Nicholas Sparks. If I want suspense, drama, friendship, romance, sex, and a thrilling read then I grab for JD Robb.
I don't live a narrow minded life towards books either. There are plenty of other authors on my book shelves. I have some Stephen King, Dan Brown, Candace Bushnell, Sandra Brown, and Mary Balogh. There are a few One Timers up there and a few Poetry Books.
In my attic I have boxes loaded up with books that just don't have a home on my bookshelves but I can't seem to part with.
I often buy my books at Garage Sales and the Used Book Stores. My only exceptions are for when the New JD Robb and Janet Evanovich books come out, I can't wait to crack those spines open! These are books in a series so it's often like keeping up to date with old friends or like watching your favorite TV series. I am hooked and it's hard enough to have to wait 6 months to a year to catch up with what is going on NEXT in their lives! These two series are like a DRUG I NEED MY NEXT HIT! :)
My life is focused on Leo and Gabriel as they give me more reasons to fight RSD each day. Together they help me live a full life.

About me: Hello All! My name is Marti Ann. I belong to my husband Leo and my only child Gabriel. We are a great and strong family unit. My family is a great support system and I often brag about them. Before Leo and I were married we had our first family addition with our little Zeus, named for the Greek God. Zeus is a Saint Bernard and is getting old but we do often claim that he is our first child. As a surprise Cleo was brought into our lives. She is our beautiful gray kitty cat and she is named after the great Cleopatra because Cleo does believe that she is Queen of the House! Recently we added little Rocky to our family. He is a hyper English Bulldog has 100 wrinkles and loves to jump! Rocky is actually short for Rocky Balboa named by our Gabriel!
After I turned 17 my parents ushered me into the world of work. After just 2 weeks on my first job at a fast food place I began my real lifes journey with a disease named Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, RSD for short. RSD didn't just change my course of life but how I viewed life. Living in a constant state of Pain, in and out of doctors offices, depression, fatigue, and I reiterate living in a constant state of "Holding your breath with tears coming out of your eyes just because your light weight bed sheet is laying on top of your knee" PAIN.
I am PROUD for the life I have made through the RSD. My heart breaks for each new person I come into contact with that has RSD. We need to ban together so that we can Educate those in our lives. Let's put out this Burning Flame! Please visit this website then come and talk with me. please visit www.rsds.org
