I still follow the news daily by way of newspapers and television.
I have been and still am an avid long-distance runner, with at least five marathons under my belt, including New York and Las Vegas marathons. No, I never competed in the Boston Marathon. My best marathon time, which I am proud of, was two hours and 42 minutes in New York. I still run, and over the last 10 years I have added weight lifting to my regimens. I feel I'm in great physical shape.
Music
I like all types of music with the exception of heavy metal. I grew up with classical music and played the piano from the age of six to 18. I've seen most of the especially classic rock concerts here in Vegas, including the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, etc., etc. The music from all the Cirque du Soleil-type shows is excellent.
Probably the best concert I ever saw was Pink Floyd at the Rose Bowl in California. I view that as one of the most enjoyable music experiences of my life.
Movies
The only television programs I regularly watch are news-related programs, although occasionally there may be sporting events that pique my interest. I really don't go to movies, I wait for them to come out in video stores. I especially enjoy spy-type movies. Two of my relatively recent favorites are "The Thomas Crown Affair" and the various "Borne Supremacy" versions.
Heroes
I really haven't thought about "heroes." Perhaps one person who stands out in my mind would be Martin Luther King, because as of this writing this was the 40th anniversary of his assassination. The biographical programs about him were everywhere. He, in my opinion, certainly changed the direction of this country by non-violently and vigorously championing equal rights for all. In fact, his so-called "Dream" speech is probably in part being fulfilled today with a woman, African-American and Caucasian man running for president.

After years of working up and down the East Coast trying to make more money by getting into larger markets, I ended my broadcasting career in St. Louis. While in St. Louis, now getting tired of my original career, I learned how to gamble for a living. That led me and my family, wife and two children, to move to Las Vegas where I've lived ever since.
