About me:

I grew up and still live in Martinez, California. I have a wonderful wife and two sons. We live in the house I grew up in, since I was lucky enough to have bought it from my parents several years ago.

I have a weekly game night with my buddies Jeff, Carl, Emilio, Ricky, Bob, Quentin & Szeder. We play boardgames for the most part, although we did go through a D&D revival several years ago.

I've been working as a programmer for my entire career. Most of that time has been at one of the two incarnations of Clear Ink, so I have lots of experience with programming for the Web and digital marketing. I also wrote a couple of books, Core PHP and Core MySQL. A lot of people have seen the PHP book since it was the first book in English about PHP.

You can find lots more content about me at the following sites.

"Our way of life can be preserved"...oh Leon, must you bum me out like that? Haha. That's just SAD! That pic of the scorpion's pinchers on that bull's balls weirds me out. I mean, as a guy-does that make you go "OUUUCCH" & kind of cringe or what? Haha.
    It's just plain WRONG!

"At last," U exclaim, "Marck's new New Year poem is up, out & on!"

Actually, I considered following this year's one-line slogan, '2008: Great!', with a stylistic sequel: '2009: Fine!', but then decided 2 B a tad less uber-minimalist 4 next year and composed the following instead... N-joy! }=))>

P.S. I'm not teasing Rocking Ruby Rose Lee about her aliases. I'm just sincerely confused, that's all.

    Hi Leon,

Holy Night sounds wholly fun. I'll be there in spirit so be careful not to imbibe me during the revels!

    Cheers,

    Marck }=))>

Hi Leon, Just read your blog. It was a great explanation with some useful tech solutions too. Yes, I can see how F-Book can inspire rebelliousness! My own attempt is to get it act like an ersatz MySpace... though they do block me at every turn... 'The Book and 'The Space' are both good for networking in private cliques but what I love about MySpace is how you can take it more public, personalized and/or peculiar without nearly so much flack.

Is Holy Night Xmas or T.G. or ??

    Cheers,

    Marck }=))>

On MySpace, it seems to be expected that you'd be more irreverent. It makes being rebellious a lot harder than on Facebook where everything seems so conservative. For me, it fuels the insanity. I'm not sure if you could see what went on last week on FB, but many of us were all changing out our profiles to look like Jeremy H. And that's sparked some interesting ideas for strange photoshop mashups.
    For example:
