About me:

I live somewhere near Topeka, Kansas... I play drums in a rock band... Do computer network administration/support for a living... I've Been playing drums for about 27 years now. I've played with multiple bands (about 15) through the years and it's all been a blast. I went to Berklee College of Music (Boston) for three semesters. Studied privately with Gary Chaffee for a couple months.
I'd also like to say I 'studied' with Todd Sucherman...lol. I picked his brain a lot in college and he taught me so very much! If I had to choose who had the most influence on my playing (abilities, style, and technique), I would have to say Todd (He now plays for STYX). He never hesitated to answer my stupid questions and point me to some amazing influnces. He has a new DVD out (Methods and Mechanics). If you are serious about drumming you need this DVD! Not only does he have the most beautiful drum set I've ever seen, but he can play the hell out of it too! I think Todd is one of the nicest, most decent human beings I've ever known; he was/is always willing to give freely of his knowledge and passion for music; and I will be forever grateful to him. Trust me, watching his DVD a bunch of times will make you a better player! Check out some of the clips on his MySpace page: Todd Sucherman
I played in the pit orchestra for HPT-141 (Hasty Pudding Theatricals 141). It's a show that Harvard University puts on every year. We played a month and a half in Cambridge, and traveled to NYC and Bermuda and played a week in both spots...Good times! I think the the two most fun bands I ever played with were 'The Need', and 'Kama Sutra' (both in Kentucky). 'The Need' was a fantastic cover band...some of the best musicians I have ever had the pleasure of making music with. 'Kama Sutra' was an all-original band (probably my favorite band I've been a part of thusfar)(Chris Tapp was/is an amazing songwriter!).

Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Vinnie Colaiuta, Thomas Lang, Marco Minnemann, Rodney Holmes, Neil Peart, Steve Smith, Simon Phillips, Terry Bozzio, Joe Travers (I did get to shake Joe Travers' (and Dweezil Zappa's) hand after a ZPZ show in KC MO... Joe is an awesome drummer, playing in an incredible band (Zappa Plays Zappa)!)
