my music influences are R&B, hip-hop, soul, christian worship songs, chinese and j-pop. basically any music that hits the heart and moves the soul is good music. I love works by lee hom and david tao. z-chen, 'unfaithful' by rihanna, alicia keys, corrinne may, janice wei, 'let me show you' by natasha thomas and worship songs by KC.
Hey friends, I'm a free spirit now after completing NS. I'm currently at SAE institute studying audio engineering on my way to become a music producer. I'll be writing songs and sharing it with you on this site, so remember to check them out.
For those who don't know me, I am basically someone who loves music and music is my life. I play the piano, guitar and violin and sing in the church choir. I love writing songs, editing music and exploring music technology stuff.
My musical journey
I started taking classical piano lessons since 12 years old and since i've explored other ways of playing, pop improvisation, jazz and blues.
The guitar is a common instrument among my friends and thus self taught since 15 years old.
The special instrument that i picked up is the violin. I started playing it since 18 years old as I am quite heavily influenced by Lee Hom. Violin learning has been quite a progressive journey for me, and in the 5 years that i have been taking lessons, I played in quite a few ensembles and now playing in church orchestra.
As music began to colour my life, I'm now exploring songwriting and also studying Recording full time in School of Audio Engineering has helped me understand more about accoustics and sound, its a special skill.
Right now, apart from studying audio, I'm taking piano, violin and music theory lessons. And believing that these skills that I aquire along the way will open doors for me in the Taiwan/Japan market as a songwriter/arranger/producer.
MONOCHROME will be playing for the National Bikers Week at The Singapore Flyer this Sat 29 Nov at 8.30pm. The event's gonna be rocking awesome!!! So do come down and check out the bikes, the bands and the babes. :)
