Léonie is a singer songwriter based in Manchester.
She has played with jazz bands all across the UK and Europe, and has more recently started writing and performing her own songs a few years ago.
She composes her music solo, layering her own vocals and sometimes incorporating her cello as well. (For example, Do Something is an entirely a cappella composition recorded by Léonie at home - it has 24 separate vocal parts). As a result her music often has multi-layered backing vocals and chorus parts, which either remain as they are or are translated into instrumental parts. (Writing in Pencil and Happiness both started as all vocal compositions which have since been recorded in studios with additional instrumental tracks.)
In the last few years she has been involved in many projects, writing vocal parts in a variety of styles: electronica; pop; jazz; northern soul; hip hop; drum n bass and dub step. She has also been involved in the writing and recording of movie soundtracks, new musicals and music videos.
In the last year Léonie has moved from London to Manchester, where she continues to work on both solo projects and those with other artists.

Hey Léonie, You probably heard of London's famous Spital Fields Market, just off Bishopsgate near Liverpool Street station. If you havn't, well allow me to invite you there this Sunday. Spital Fields is one of London's most popular covered market. Recently refurbished, it holds an amazing history, with visible ruins dating back to the 13th century. Back in the day, it used to be London's open air Hospital Fields. Later it became a food market & the name was shortened to 'Spital. Now lying in the middle of modern financial district buildings, the market has been conserved & is used by arts & crafts merchants. Sundays is the most popular day to visit the market. There is an array of restaurants to choose from along side the many shops & market stands on display.
Yours truly will be Spital Fields Official Sunday Busker, starting this coming Sunday, January 27th. I will be pitched in the market from 11am all through out the day. So why dont you come down & have a late lunch in one of the restaurants or simply browse the market... Looking forwards to seeing you there! http://www.visitspitalfields.com/
