Saxophonist Leon Wildner has been making music since he was 8 years old. Since he was 17 he has been playing the saxophone.
Soon as he began to play the sax, he grew to become a jazz-rock/fusion player. Age 19 he received the title "Best musician of The Betuwe (middle of Holland)".
From Jazz, blues, to Soul, Dance; From the little cafe around the corner to the big Dutch stages, Leon was playing weekly. Even across the borders he was blowing his sax.
Also among the Molukan people Leon became a familiar face. With New Sate, Lady Soul, Aquabogue, Actual Proove, JWP en Silahkan Leon played in the molukan neighbourhoods and big party's (f.e. Pasar Malam).
In 1999 Leon joined a Black Gospel Choir and did a Gospel tour of more than 50 theatres across The Netherlands.
In the choir he met his wife to be Esther. In the period after he learned more about the love of Jesus and gave his heart to Him.
These days Leon is playing gospel most of the times. He's playing in differend settings with f.e. Gilbert Thera & NuSound, Claire, Eric & Tanja Lagerström, Corey & The Soulminded Band, Project 777 Band, Fresh Fire Choir, The Convocation etc...
2008 seems to be a year full of new opertunities. Leon started with the Fresh Fire Choir and a bigband called The Convocation. There are some new contacts and Leon is looking forward to what God will bring on his path. I Was just about to send you a comment saying that i hope we can play together soon. not knowing you going to be playing along also on the 21st june for gilbert thera's dvd recording. LOL
