About me:
Leora Lynn Woodsmall was a vibrant, normal fifteen year old girl. There were so many things that made her special. She had an infectious laugh, a truly goofy sense of humor, a true, pure heart...and a rare & deadly cancer.
Leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare cancer. It attacks the soft tissues of the body with large, fast growing tumors. Approximately 4 in a million cancer cases are LMS.
Although it usually affects the older adult population,
Leora began to show symptoms right after her fifteenth birthday, which was July 22nd of 2002. She was diagnosed in November of the same year. She was dead the following April. As so many people know, cancer is a cruel disease. I watched it kill my child in only five short months.
LMS has no known cure. It is terribly aggressive, and non-responsive to most chemo and radiation. Remission can be attained at times by surgery, but so many surgeries are sometimes needed.
Because this cancer is so rare, not much attention is given to fundraising and research.
This site is dedicated to my daughter, Leora, and all the others who have or are suffering with this disease - either themselves or someone they love.
Here we will post upcoming events related to raising awareness and funds for researching this dreaded disease.

leora lynn!!! my angel...my friend....these past few months have been hard i find myself lookin at ur page ..and just...i dont know how to explain it.. i get mad upset angry and then i feel selfish..i just ask myself why? why u..why not ppl who hurt ppl why not ppl who do bad things why someone so pure so young so much to look foward to..and then i think of the times i known u were there in brendens room when i lived across from ur mom or the day i woke up adn saw u when i lived next to mom...and i realize ur not gone...not completly....i wish u so much..i dont know if this makes any sense but its just all my feelings...i love u..brenden loves u .... and we all miss u!! (i love u my gorgoues babby daddy lol) miss u princess...
