Leo Schmied
Leo started playing at the age of 4. He is the son of the late, world class classical pianist Dr. Alfred Leo Schmied who was Head of the Music Department at the University of Tennessee. His classical background is brought forward into modern music with classical instrumentation and expression.
Leo is a seasoned studio musician and may be found on thousands of karoake singles and hundreds of albums. His performance is not limited to Blues, R&B and Rock. He can perform almost all styles of western music including, but not limited to: Soul, Jazz, Big Band, Classical, Swing, Country Western, Funk, Pop, Hip Hop, Disco, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and more. His works may be found on numerous tunes that have received national and international air play.
Leo is one of the few musicians with an ear for "sitting in" with groups and performing live. Most audiences can not tell he has not been a member of the band for years. He is considered a Musician's Musician and was dubed the Wizard for his performance, and the Dragon for his vocal range and style. Audiences love to watch his speed of hand, the easy in which he plays, and can touch your very soul with the emotion he brings to his vocal performance.
And I bet THIS is why..............................
I reckon your shades are there to prevent people commenting on your REM...!!! My hometown's a disaster, but you KNOW I'd always share a stage with you, Pappa - and, in good blues tradition, we always forgive the odd audible grunt, usually involuntary and emitted during a particularly soulfelt stimulus......
I will be live with Nu Blooze Band Oct 9 and to at Boomerangs in Madisonville and inviting all my frineds to come out and party with us! Spread the word! Pappa Leo Schmied
