About me:
Find some of my work at etsy.com/littlehats. I enjoy your comments but please make the pics smallish. I am a milliner and artist in Ontario Canada and my new year's resolution was to get in touch with the whole internet-thing. :) It's not easy living in the country with dial-up.
I digress. I work in my studio making hats and make a little art on the side and spend time working on my house. My partner Christopher is in the tech side of rock and roll and theatre. We don't have average days.
I really don't want this to be a manifesto of art or people but I do like to write and when I was an angst filled teenager I longed to be a tourtured writer. I opted instead for a tourtured artist. I think there is a part of me that enjoys obscurity and toiling in solitary studios. I chose after all, to be a milliner. A strange and dying art form that crosses the line between fashion and sculpture. I was, in my fourth year of college, in love with textile instalation art. Fun to make but tough to store. I've since taught myself how to make books and I often make small book sculptures. One day I will take a photo of them. I love to print-make. I love the smell of the ink and the feel of the paper.
One day I will finish a print again. I have been distanced from it for a year or so. I may even post some photos here in another album. That is if I stop sewing enough to do it.
Our house is a whole different story. It's a log house built in 1971 and NOTHING changed. It's ugly and dark and brown. Very, very brown. (sigh) One day. I will have a bathroom that isn't falling apart. We have finished the kitchen/dining room hall though. It looks fantastic and I love it. It took over a year though. Always time and no money and vice-versa. I likely will change this and ramble on about something else. So until then....

Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet kindered souls. I've met a few and knowing them ,regardless of how short or long I knew them, changed my life. I am, as most people would say, on old soul. (sometimes older than i think should be allowed) I want to know these people. Really know them, not just believe I know them. I want to share with them. (this is big for me, my kindergarten teacher often comment on my unwillingness to share) I won't presume that anyone wants to listen to me but I am open to them.

i've been wrestling with this all week. How can i get an important message to you without you feeling the hemmorhoidal burn of a mass comment... well. i can't. I'd love to message you, our adoring masses, individually, but i just can't do it. there aren't enough parsecs in an hour. so, please don't take it personally, i mean... if it's any consolation, i still have to copy and paste over and over again just to get this very important message across to you all one at a time. That's right, i'm not using a mass comment thingy. This was sent by myself personally. So here's the important message.... it's not a new message... but it's a message nonetheless. We have a goal... we want to get at least 300 song plays on our site today. To celebrate this, we also want to get 300 people to join our facebook group... here's the link. just copy and paste it into your browser url bar http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6310573415
why 300? because it's a stepping stone to 5000+ per day. We also enjoyed the movie 300 a bit... mostly for comedic advantage, but that's a whole n'other issue... possibly for our blog section.
anyways, thank you for your understanding and as always, if you message/comment us back, we'll be sure to get back to you as quickly as we can. Why? because we love you and because you know you deserve it.
the facebook group url again is
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6310573415
so drop us a line, comment, message, or send a pigeon carrier to our attention and let us know you're still alive and doing well. ok? ok.
