Le Pico Artist / Producer / Engineer
LE PICÓ is a name open to interpretation. It could derive from the Spanish mix of words for the vinyl player, perhaps a reference to a mosquito bite or maybe a nickname given by a lovely grandmother.
However you want to see it, the essence of Le Picó is a creative free spirit just like the man behind the concept, Erik Aldrey, who grew up immersed in a musical environment (even eating notes for dinner!) and catapulted himself into the production world over 10 years ago.

The self-titled first album reflects the many influences of a multicultural life, from the exquisite chill-out broken beat of ‘Supernova’ through to the understated punk of ‘All Around’ via the luscious deep house epic ‘Entre Tus Brazos’. It always, however, remains true to the Latin soul of its originator, never more evident than in the irresistible hook of ‘A Vida Rara’ (you’ll be singing it for days afterwards!).
Collaborations include, among others, the sublime Karla Bahia on vocals (‘Ríe’, ‘A Vida Rara’), Darren Cumberbatch (‘Open Your Eyes’), and Julio Briceño and Armando Figueredo, both of legendary Venezuelan band Los Amigos Invisibles fame (‘Entre Tus Brazos’, ‘Ríe’).
The creativity of this project has been noticed throughout the globe, allowing it to be part of several international compilation albums. So far the list reads:

‘All Around’ on ‘Chill Out Venezuela’ (Gozadera Records)
‘Supernova’ on both ‘Touch Tone Music Compilation Vol.2’ (Tummy Touch Records) and ‘Soul Sauce’ (Revive The Soul Records)
The LIVE incarnation of LE PICÓ appeared last year, with rapturous receptions from their gigs in Caracas, Barcelona and London. The high-octane shows have incorporated a roster of fine musicians playing with different formats, samples and live loops while visually dazzling the crowd with the now famous trademark light-costumes and video projections.
LE PICÓ will keep biting… look out for the new material coming soon to an ear near you…
