BIOGRAPHY:
Suspiria Franklyn and James Jacket grew up in the suburbs of Lisbon, with a lot of will but nothing to do! It all went right but it wasnt enough! So in the end of 1998 they started a Punk/New Wave band that caught the immediate attention of punk kids and the police.
After touring intensively in Portugal, they left the country and moved towards Berlin, where they lived from 2002 till 2006.
Both of them played in other bands since 1994, such as Everground or Kiute Loss, but it was with Les Baton Rouge that they achieved wordwide exposure, starting to make international shows, including 2 major tours in Europe (Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, England, Austria) and 3 major tours in U.S.A. Les Baton Rouge always enjoyed to perform in places outside of the Rock..n..Roll circuit like libraries, strip clubs, prisons and psychiatric institutions.
Their last record, My Body-The Pistol, was released in early 2004 by Elevator Music Records
in New York, and counts with the production and collaboration of the mythical name of Tim Kerr and it went directly to the CMJ American Charts , receiving numerous raves all over the world.
The band describes their sound as "a friend punching another to wake him up from a terrible catatonia" and their show as a "performance in real time". Destruction is everywhere around us and they are a part of it. Dancing with the crowd outside the stage and creating a catastrophe gives them an enormous pleasure.
Today, Les Baton Rouge have their name in the "Rock n Roll American History", at the same time the critics considered them as one of the most intense and best live bands of the world.
