(Le) Scrawl was formed by Mario and Peter in 1989. Initially playing "typical" Grindcore we eventually blended it with various musical styles - not necessarily stuff we're huge fans of, but music we're listening to occasionally, like Jazz, Ska, Swing, etc.
After putting out 4 songs on the "I kill what I eat" compilation (Ecocentric Rec.) in 1993 we started playing live shows as well, e.g. with A.C., Agathocles, C.B., etc. Following the release of a 7" (Psychomania Rec.) in 1994, and the "Q" mCD (Ecocentric Rec.) in 1995, we recorded a bunch of cover songs released on the "Rotten fake" mCD featuring Agathocles and 7 MxOxNx in 1998.
Following a few years in hiatus we put out our discography entitled "Too short to ignore" on "Life is abuse" and "RSR" in 2002. At this time we also changed our line up which currently exists of Peter (drums), Michael (keys), Simon (guitar), and Mario (formerly on guitar, now on bass/ vocals).
With engineer/ producer Harris Johns - known for his work with bands from the metal circus (Sodom, Kreator, Immolation ) and punk/HC alike (Slime, Daily Terror, Vorkriegsjugend ) we also found the perfect person to record our stuff. He taped the 13 songs for "Eager to please" (Life is abuse/ RSR) in March/ April 2003. Furthermore, he mixed and mastered our "Full Frontal Nudity" - DVD (Morbid Rec./ Life is abuse) featuring gigs of our California tour and the OEF in Trutnov recorded in 2004 - released in Spring 2006. In May 2007 he recorded our newest release "Whisky a go go!" at his recently reformed "Music Lab" in Berlin.
Yo Le Scrawl, Whenever I listen to your music. I feel like singing too. But your talent is unmatched. How much time you spend to rehearse per day Le Scrawl? Love ya. Jack PS:Follow Me Twitter at http://twitter.com/iaent
