thanx to rifraf and 'Jack'David (a nice Jack...).
Les "Generals" Jack is a trio, two guitars & drums, who bring an original mix of Rock, Funk, Reggae, Roots Music ... all songs larded with a fat layer of Blues!
The members of the band met each other on a Jamsession at the port festival of Leuven (Belgium) in 1999. This Jam appeared rapidly a windfall of format which made the idea grow of forming a band. The first rehearsals started on the boat of Drummer, Toon Derison, the boat was called 'Jack'.
Floated by the inspiration "A chacun son Blues" a first demo with 4 own numbers arose in 2001 and in 2004, they did released their first album "Small talk, Space Message".
Take a look at the followin...
And let's talk in the present tense!!
Yes, indeed
..The new album, "Mrs Hippy", is now available ..
On this MySpace you can listen to a couple demo versions out of it.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
