"Les Haferflocken Swingers" are a Berlin Jazz-Band, but actually the members of the band are from France, Canada, Germany, Belgium and Latvia.
But I think this band mirrors what I call "The New German Art Scene" - also comprising other genre of art besides music.
This NEW ART SCENE is very open and deep at the same time, it wants to experiment by mixing different styles in a playful way - with a healthy dose of humour and self-irony.
Listen, See, Sense ...- and enjoy this very special band."

This band has a lot to say, a lot to Show and trying to describe their energy on the paper can only be attempted. Les Haferflocken Swingers is a very unique swing band based in Berlin since 2002. Smoking hot jazz, dirty blues, Balkan grooves and the spirit of Rock’n’ Roll. Not only for the ears but for the eyes too, this musical kitchen is cooking up some spicy sounds with a side of theatrics.
From the beginning, the founders of the band developed a very authentic spirit. Always close to the roots of jazz, they started with traditional tunes from New Orleans but most definitely with a Berliner punk/rock feeling. Many musicians formed the band throughout the years expanding its repertoire to Klezmer and Balkan music as well.
Since 2005, the current members have given a new impulse to the band with original compositions and an excellent show on the stage;
“Each time an uninhibited explosion of good vibes and spontaneity!” (Tagesspiegel Berlin)”.
It is mostly by playing in public pretty much anywhere, anytime that the members got to know each other and play together. Traveling has indeed always been part of the spirit and the band has played for a wide audience - Paris, Nice, New Orleans, Tel Aviv, tour in Germany... Besides concerts and street performances the group has taken part in many side projects such as theatre pieces, cabaret and short films.

Lassen wir die Pressemumie von BudZillus mal selbst für die Band sprechen: "Budzillus are 5 lunatic anthropoids from the dephts of a cleft in the space-time structure. Accidently stranded in this dimension and searching for their original, more jellylike form, they tried to immitate human life by starting a band [after a proposal for world domination was rejected by 3 to 2 voices...], not knowing where this all would lead to...Ohlala! " .
Hi guys, I really like the sounds you are producing. Listening to your music, I found it impossible not to tap my feet and feel the rhythm. Respect and best wishes, Chris.
