Band MembersABOUT LES HOMMES DU TRAIN_______________ Formed three years ago as a "guitar wielding techno act" (Time Out), Les Hommes Du Train has concentrated on live club performances, rather than record releases. In their more club friendly version, they have played regularly as a duo or trio in venues and festivals such as Latitude, Encompass, Batofar (Paris),Cargo, Bar Music Hall, The Social, ICA, National Film Theatre, The Tate, So British Music Festival (France), De La Warr Pavilion, Point Ephemere (Paris), The Key, Institute Francais, Roundhouse, Vibe and The Spitz and more. At full strength, the band is a electronic live soundsystem and the full collective line-up has included up to seven members with Ben Osborne on guitar, decks and laptop, Adam Barry on bass and decks, Ian Watson playing trumpet, Ali Friend on bass, the Delta Rhythm duo on beats and effects and Chris Coco manipulating cdjs. By way of contrast, in the studio the band is reduced to one.

“Like Underworld if they’d decided to be a lo-fi rock and roll combo instead of a stadium-selling dance act. Stunning, it’s ridiculous, but in a great way.”
Vice Mag

The Guillotines
http://www.myspace.com/headswillrockandroll
“Snarling spunk-punkers The Guillotines come across like Gallows meeting the Rat Pack, with a flame-haired Lauren Bacall wielding a bass, outside a Brighton S&M shop psyching themselves up to buy leather gimp masks. Wanton sax appeal, voodoo rock'n'roll magnetism and growling dirty lounge”
NME

Creepy Morons
http://www.myspace.com/thecreepymorons
“The thunderous blues crunch of The Creepy Morons first materialised in 2005 having risen from the ashes of Hot Tradition and The Beatings. I know its rubbish when I merely regurgitate information from a myspace, but when a band describes its influences as ‘Women, Drinking and Death’, and their sound as ‘Drunken monkeys assembling an Ikea butchers block’, I’d be daft not to.” Jon Hillcock, XFM

Thursday 24 January

Punx Soundcheck

BFI Southbank (formerly National Film theatre), London

8p until 1am

£8.70

The BFI and Noise of Art celebrate their new recording partnership and their first release 'Piccadilly Nite Version 1', to be released in early spring.

The launch party will take place at the BFI's new state of the art Southbank complex and will feature the debut showing of the single and a live performance using scenes from 'Piccadilly', EA Dupont's s classic film about London clubs in the 1920s, as well as the first showings of forthcoming Noise of Art/ BFI releases from two other artist. The performance will be followed with an after party with more DJ and live sets from the assembled artist.

With film from the BFI National Archive and live electronic music, Noise of Art launches the first release from the new partnership between the BFI and Noise of Art recordings. Inspired by EA Dupont's British 20s night-life classic Piccadilly, 'Piccadilly Nite Versions 1' sees a nu disco soundtrack, by Les Hommes du Train, being set to a re-edited short version of the film, with some unexpected results. For the second debut of the night, acclaimed electronic producer Vector Lovers will perform Day in the Life of a Coal Miner (filmed in 1910) for the first time. We're also pleased to welcome A Man Called Adam back for a rare performance of their superb commissioned score for Visit to Peek Frean and Co's Biscuit Works (1906). Rounding things off, Punx Soundcheck make their debut live performance, also revealing their new AV partnership with Machines Are Gonna Kill Us; and finally Ben Osborne and Overlap reveal their new live AV interpretation for the 'Picca

Thursday 13 December, 11pm to 3 AM, Borderline, Orange Yard, Manette Street, London W1V 5LB

Another Slipped Disco… presents…

Noise Of Art and Slipped Disco Christmas parties with special guests and loads of surprises, DJ sets and contributions from DJ Andrew Friendly (Milke), Punx Soundcheck, Ben osborne, Les Hommes Du Train, Knights of the Nine Times Table, Punkvert, Adam Barry (Devil Fish), Big Man Dom (Pick ‘n’ Mix), Overlap and more to be announced.

The last Slipped Disco and Noise of Art event of 2007 (we think) takes over the Borderline for a Christmas knees up. There’s a host of things going on, but most of all it’s a chance for all those who’ve taken part in the parties this year to jump around on the dancefloor and generally have a riot. To help all along the way there’ll be DJ sets and contributions from Ben Osborne, Punx Soundcheck, Andrew Friendly (Milke DJ Set), Knights of the Nine Times Table, Les Hommes Du Train, Punkvert, Adam Barry (Devil Fish), Big Man Dom (Pick ‘n’ Mix) and plenty more to be announced, some live electronic acts, some dancing and a bar serving drinks…

Zombie-Zombie layer motorik drumming, droning organs and synths, chiming glockenspiels and all manner of bleepy detail into a churning, prog-Kraut thrill-ride buffeted by malevolent winds. The band, a two-piece Parisian act, is known for live shows on a stage piled high with vintage gear.
