Les Jupes are a four-piece rock band from Winnipeg, Canada. Dynamic, tightly arranged, slightly frantic and combining the collective talents of four of Winnipeg's most adventurous musicians into a fireball of energy circling in on itself, trying to eat its own tail.
Soundscapes and songs about long-dead Russian prime ministers, ghosts, spiritual rebellion, your brother, and broken promises. Raise your flutes. Raise your lyres. These are Les Jupes.
They are recording their debut album in 2009 with Marcus Paquin. He lives in Montreal. He's really really tall. He's worked with The Arcade Fire, Stars, Torngat, Dr. No and more. And he plays in a fantastic new band called Silver Starling.
Mike produced the groundbreaking Record Of The Week Club and also plays in The Liptonians. Jesse is best known for his psychadelic outfit Mahogany Frog. Dave hails from Edmonton's The Provincial Archives and Five O'Clock Charlie. They're all trying to make their lives as impossibly busy as possible. What else are they supposed to do? They live in Winnipeg. Its in the water.
