About me: Just writing writing writing... and from that, what I've come to believe:--=---
""The strongest influences in my life and my work are always whomever I love. Whomever I love and am with most of the time, or whomever I remember most vividly. I think that's true of everyone, don't you? "" –Tennessee Williams-------
"Suddenly I realize that if I stepped out of my body I would break into blossom."
-James Wright------
"Deliver me from writers who say the way they live doesn't matter. I'm not sure a bad person can write a good book. If art doesn't make us better, then what on earth is it for." –Alice Walker-----
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
-Mark Twain-----
"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go."
-Mary Oliver-----
Indeed! That is a bummer though! I just interviewed a gal for the paper who had a great line, "you're only a quitter if you quit!" Don't know if she thought of it or if she borrowed the quote from someone else but I will be passing it on and keeping it close to my consciousness at all times.
Had some personal stuff kind of dragging me down the last couple of days. Funny how the universe puts us in just the right situation to remind us to keep plugging along.
Hang in there and we will both celebrate our accomplishments in the not too distant future! All the best - Deb
Darn near there!!! We shoot the cover this coming Saturday and it will go to print the first part of April. Just can't hardly believe it is happening! What is new and exciting in your life?
thank you Leslie that means much more than words to me ... which song do you like ... on an other note ... to challenge the horrors of human trafficking through musical theatre and events ... we all need each others support as it feels sometimes like no one is listening to the screams of the innocent and helpless ...
Hello Lesile ...Lovely page you have here and thank you for supporting The Blood and the campaign against human trafficking ...if you have seen 'Taken' 2008 or 'Human Trafficking' 2005 you will see how desensitized the problem of sex slavery has become ... and how apathy is the enemy of those young girls who live in terror and brutality 24/7 ... it is one of the most serious horrors that humanity has to fight in the 21st century ... it is dehumanizing in the same systematic way of the holocaust ..
I hope you will stop by often. Love getting feedback.
Hi Les, Jason has been having chest pain this weekend on his left side, so I will feel much better once he goes to the dr. on Mon. Hope all is good on your end, tell everyone hi from me. One of my mics broke during the interview I just did so you can only sort of hear me. It's the last straw though, I've been meaning to go digital and ditch the tape recorder... and now I will haha.
Don't miss Radio Golf, a play about a charismatic African-American politician running for mayor who must make a choice between his community's history and his own ambition.
How funny I was just loading the pictures and attempting to arrange them. I forward you some in the next day ok... How's Betty doing? LOL! Can you send me a copy of your play?
I know - isn't it wonderful!!!! The first time I heard that song was at my aunts funeral (she had only one daughter) and Ella was only 2 months old... Waterworks everywhere!!!!! I love that song soooooooooooo much!
