About 15 years ago at a small dive-bar in Louisville called Jake and Ellwoods, my dad (John McClure) got me up on stage to sing a few Alison Krauss covers with him for an open-mic night. For the next two years, he and I played as many Thursday open-mic nights as we could at Jake and Ellwoods, until they lost their food license and we had to search for underage-friendly musical outlets. Throughout my high school years we continued our family duet, playing at venues such as Cumberland Brewery, Z's Pizza, Java Brewing Company, the Irish Rover, and Browning's at the Louisville Slugger Field. As fate would have it, I made the decision to go to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee the same year my dad began to teach at the Vanderbilt Divinity School. Five years later, I am now a Masters student in the Latin American Studies program at Vanderbilt University. Living in the heart of music city has been amazing for our musical endeavors; since my freshman year at Belmont I have played at various venues including Mcdougals, 12th South Taproom, Bongo Java, Caffeine, The Family Wash, and the Basement, and I have played with some of the most talented musicians Nashville has to offer. Our musical interests have expanded, and two years ago I released my first album, The Santiago Set. All of the songs on the Santiago Set are original, many of which were written in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. You can order "The Santiago Set" from CDbaby.com (http://cdbaby.com/cd/lesliemcclure) or you can download the CD directly onto your ipod from itunes (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playListId=213645308 ). In January 2009 we released our second album, "Back Home to You," which will be available soon on CDbaby.com and iTunes. You can also download the tracks from digstation (http://www.digstation.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumid=ALB000025856) or order the CD online from Montreat's Bookstore website: http://www.montreatbooksandgifts.org/index.php?main_page=product_music_info&cPath=3_309_398_400&products_id=3353. Of the 12 songs on this CD, 6 are original. Nashville artists Julie Lee and Joshua Wolak graciously contributed two songs to the album, "Many Waters" and "Fell Out," respectively. All of the songs on "The Santiago Set" and "Back Home to You" were recorded and engineered in my dad's home studio: JonyMac Studio.

heya! (I think that was one of the other guys that commented on your page) . . It would have been good to see you in nashville, but i totally understand. We actually had leave right after we played to head to Kansas for a show the next day - so there wasn't much time for catching up.
Well, if we don't get to jam, then I expect you to make your way across the Tarheel state sometime so that I can come see you! It's been great working with you too! :-)
Leslie, Your voice is amazing! Thanks for lending it and your talent to the work here at Montreat this week. I hope I'll get to see one of your shows in the near future. I'll miss you and Clay playing together, though! :-) Peace.
