We're very excited to announce that this Saturday, July 18th, we'll be returning to Charleston for the Rock N' Roll Revival @ Pour House. A few months ago when we decided to plan our next headlining show in town we wanted to try something different that incorporated some of our favorite songs & all of the great musicians in town that we knew. With that came the birth of the Rock N' Roll Revival. So get there early to check out Tent Revival, then a full headlining set from us, and then we'll be playing some songs from our favorite bands - a little rock, a little blues, a whole lot of soul - with an all star cast of some of your favorite Charleston bands. We're going to blow the roof off of the Pour House. You can get your tickets on ETIX or at the club that night, it's an all ages show, and tickets are only $8 - so no excuses, come spend your Saturday with us. Also a special thanks to everyone at 98X & The Bridge at 105.5 for letting us come takeover the studio the other week and make those "special" promos you're hearing all over the air. And for those of you who don't live in Charleston, we have several huge shows coming up with The Avett Brothers and 7 Mary 3 over the next month and we'd love to see you. Hope to see you on the road!

2009 About Leslie
Hardship is sometimes life's greatest inspiration. For Sadler Vaden, Jason Fox and Jonathan Carman of Charleston, South Carolina, rock trio Leslie, what started with tragedy quickly turned into a year of self-discovery.
The year started out just like any other in Leslie's history. The band was driving around the southeast in an old Ford van that logged over 400,000 miles, hoping it wouldn't break down before their next gig. Whether it was in a packed club or a smoky bar filled with three drunks and a bartender, Leslie's goal was to play their music for anyone who would listen and pour every ounce of their souls out on stage each night.
Then, on the morning of his 21st birthday, Sadler Vaden's mother, Scarlet, passed away from her battle with breast cancer, becoming the second parent he had lost within a few short years. No one would have blamed them if at that moment they gave up, walked away, and started their lives over in different directions. However, for Leslie, quitting was never an option.
Growing up in a small blue-collar town, sacrifice and determination were lessons instilled early in life for each member of Leslie. Carman’s mother pawned her wedding ring to buy him his first drum set, while Fox’s family taught not only their son, but the band, how to invest their earnings back into their passion – music. Vaden’s parents introduced him to stacks of vinyl by Zeppelin, The Who, and Hendrix, which not only shaped his taste in music, but taught him the importance of creating something timeless. Therefore, it didn’t come as a shock when one of Scarlet Vaden’s last wishes was for the band to continue making music on their own terms and grow up to realize their dreams.
In the months following, Leslie took a trip to Memphis, Tennessee to write and help cope with the loss of their biggest fan. Maybe it was also the experience of living in a trailer park next to the Mississippi River in a town known for birthing the blues and contributing to some of history's most memorable rock and roll, but something inspired Leslie to open the floodgates, and The Rebel Souls EP was born.
If a biography is the culmination of a band's shared experiences, then The Rebel Souls EP is Leslie’s first chapter. We hope you will stick around for the rest of the story.

Thanks, Sadler. BLURT Magazine will be printing an excerpt of the book in the September issue, with never seen before pictures of the infamous GWAR show at the 4808 Club in 1990. Tired of the Boomers exploiting Woodstock to death, so I had to write something about my generation. KILL THE MUSIC is a tale of "The South" that I came up in. Its about censorship of punk, alt. rock, and metal, and one man's odyssey through a glorious time in music, and although it does explore traditional characters, KILL THE MUSIC isn't some deluded, sycophantic, West Coast interpretation with bad southern accents. It is real, because I lived it. Now if we can just get the film made...
how could i forget! it's just too good, plus, Sick is my alarm. I feel like what orlando needs most is for you and the band white denim to play a show together. then everyone will be in a much better mood.
