From the shadows of their infamous loft parties, where a drunken 300 pound pig named Mitsou was sometimes known to steal a beer, to the glare of MuchMusic and Universal Music, The Snitches have always managed to flirt enigmatically with the spotlight. Their shows can be best described as delirious frenzy, with flailing and diving and scrapping about...some shows have resulted in black eyes, broken bones, massive blood loss, and unconsciousness; though mercifully,
it's most often just Scott making the trip to the emergency room.
They truly are unapologetic bastards of late 20th century popular music,
whether it is punk or rawk or garage or power pop or art-fag new-wave performance ---they've never been totally comfortable squeezing into one suit.
To get an idea of where they're coming from, here's what some of the critics havehad to say about them
"infectiously hook-ridden primal sluts"
"oddly elegant tongue-in-cheek pop"
"Devo and the Buzzcocks getting dirty with Iggy"
"the Strokes before they got bored with life,
the Hives without the hype,
the Moony Suzuki with any antic sense of humor
they kiss the sacred relics of Elvis Costello, the Pixies and the Cars
then fart out loud against the altar"
but single-handedly the best compliment they've ever received
came after a CMJ show in New York when an aging denizen from the 70s CBGB era exclaimed
"You've reinstilled in me my faith in the power and stupidity of punk!"..........
Bands played with: Queens of the Stone Age, Guided By Voices, the Mekons,

I have Star Witness and Black Book. Absolutely fantastic albums (now I just need to buy the other two)! I remember 10 or 11 years ago when cbc featured you guys on MusicWorks. That was cool. I got a kick out of that HBC commercial that used the "mellow" version of Right Before My Eyes (my fave song). I really like Umbrella too. Love your music guys--keep up the great work!

We are very sad to announce that Chris's brother Jim is in a coma and is not expected to live after a horrible accident. He injected to much insulin and had a seizure, his brain suffred lack of oxygen for up to five hours and stopped working. His brain stem is the only thing to show any life. He has been taken of the feeeding tubes and resperator. He is leaving behind three girls who desperately need help. Please make a donation by going to our my space page, and help his family that he is leaving behind. It is a five dollar donation and will be used to take care of his three young girls.
There is alot of fraud going on on myspace, and to tell the truth it never crossed our minds that some people would think this is a scam. It is not. And for the band on our comment page who said we should join Jim, may God have mercy on your souls you heartless scum. I encourage everyone to tell them exactly how much they suck.
We are trying to raise money to bury a man who isn't dead yet, and as morbid as it seems, it is very important since the money just isn't there. Please help spread the word.
Thank you.
Please forward to as many people as you can or direct them to the negitive sleep my space page at www.myspace.com/negitivesleep
We will be doing a benifit show in the near future also to raise money for the kids.
Hi The Snitches,
To Let you know, we will be posting a new track every couple of weeks until the release of the new cd in December.
Latest is 'House of the living dead'
Also first live show since 1989- Thurs 14th Dec at Union Hall, Brooklyn NY.
I saw you dudes live and one of the cool things was that nobody knew who you were and you guys came out looking like how a punk band should! You guys rocked it like a pile of wild banchees while everybody stared in complete disgust and I could tell by the smile on your face that I wasn't the only one loving every bit of it!
