Officially formed in 2005, Less Than Normal, or better known to their fans as LTN, has learned a lot since the original formation of their current roster. “When we first started the whole idea was to be a group of four best friends who play music not only cause we love it but also so that we would have something to do in our spare time. As time went on within that first year, we realized that making music and being in this band was something that we didn’t want to do but something we had to do.” says bassist Frankie Rivera. “We had to do it because it felt right and it made us feel like it was what we were meant to do. Before the band we were all lost in what our ambitions would be in life but once LTN started we know what road we wanted to take. Music is the only thing all four of us truly love.”
It was not always easy at first for the four members of LTN which are made up of vocalist/bassist Frankie, guitar/vocalist Chris, guitarist Edgar, and drummer Angel. “In the beginning there was no one really showing up to our shows” says manage Edgar Valdez. LTN however eventually found a way by continuously playing shows in Manhattan’s village at such venues as CBGB’s and the Knitting Factory. With the persistence LTN eventually started seeing more and more kid’s show up to their shows.
With a sound that contains the energy of Thursday, the wittiness of Brand New, and the pure fun of making music like Blink-182. LTN has learned to craft all of their influences and make it into a sound all their own. “We know that our music is not 100 percent original because at the end of the day whose music really is? All we do know is that we make music from the heart and always try to add our own twist which is why our music is ever evolving. We never like to do the same thing over and over again which I believe is a big reason for our growing fan base.” Over the past three years, LTN has always been known for putting on an energetic live show but have never been able to translate that energy onto a cd until this spring’s release of “Reinventing The Kid!”.
“Reinventing The Kid!” is a dynamic album filled with pop punk undertones, hardcore influences, and a sense of pop that not many other bands in the genre can dish out. With their official debut cd now out, LTN hope to change kid’s ideas of what making music is. It’s not always about following the latest trends with this band but about making music from the soul. LTN continuously try to send out their message through any means they can, most notably their myspace which has garnered over 500 plays a day since the release of their debut cd.
For the future LTN look to try and take over the world! They have established themselves as one of the best bands on the NYC scene and look to continue to grow the buzz around them. Shows, shows, and more shows is in LTN’s future until the day they die. Music is all this band is about and they hope to be able to do it for years to come
Hey! Thanks for the add! I am trying to find a pay-free job as a stylist for a band or individual singer/musician. This means I won't be charging for styling the outfits, but they will have to pay for the clothes. I am interested in any band/singer/musician who may need someone to coordinate their outfits so that each person has their own individual look, but they still all come together to form a put-together group. If you are interested in my help, you can contact me at seance.styling@gmail.com Spread the word around, please! It would mean so much to me. It is my dream to work as a stylist and it is such an enjoyable job for me. Thank you!
