Letters makes music for small spaces out of Olympia, Wa. We often try different arrangements, line-ups, and sounds, so when people ask, "what is letters?" it's sometimes hard to answer.
We are working on a new album! Technically, it is a split with If It Ain't Breakfast Don't Fix It, which is Geph's project, and it'll be the same people playing on all songs...so it's actually just a split with ourselves. Conceptually ridiculous? Hard to market? Blurring the lines of what Letters is even further? Yesyesyes. And we love it. The album is going great so far and should take us in some directions we haven't yet gone, so we're excited.
For those who have seen us as Black Tail Dear & Letters, the energy of that project has been mostly funneled towards the band Sleep Together. So check that out, we think it's great.
We keep busy. Members of Letters can also be found playing in...The Pasties, The Background Front, A Collective of Dirt, Kite, Gumar and his Magical Midi Band, Hecka Ar, Black Tail Dear, Razz M'Tazz, Buffalo Voice as well as a variety of other solo and collaborative projects.

Oh, thank you for your sweet words. Yes I hope to return to that lovely Olympia again. But right now there are no plans for crossing big waters. Soon though I hope. Ahh. Your music is so lovely. Thank you for sending the link. Today it smelled like spring. I know it is still far but the moist earthy air reminded me of Olympia. O. Cheers, Josepha
