Born in 1954 in Istanbul, Levent Altindag has started music by playing mandolin with his father’s encouragement who was a musician too. Being taught by the estimable professors of his time, he has worked with the leading musicians of the Turkish jazz scene, such as Ismet Siral, Arto Tunboyaciyan, Okay Temiz, Erkan Ogur, Onno Tunç, Serif Yüzbasioglu, Emin Findikoglu, Neset Ruacan, Süheyl Denizci to name a few and has created a style of his own in time. He has formed Turkey’s first brass band Kemik Üçlüsü, with Senova Ülker and Levent Çoker. Having played with internationally recognised Turkish musicians Arto Tunç, Fahir Atakoglu and Askin Arsunan at international festivals, Mr. Altindag is working as a session musician in most of Turkey’s popular musicians’ albums, he is also teaching at Istanbul State Conservatory.
Levent Altindag is a founding member of Turkish ethnic pop jazz band Habbecik, whose first album ‘An Meselesi’, was an album to open a new page in jazz thanks to its traditional Turkish music elements, has been recently released.
Levent Altindag who also takes part in international projects, recently played concerts with Nana Vasconcelos in Turkey and Brasil, played with Horacio 'El Negro' Hernandes, Anthony Jackson, Cliff Almond, Federico Ramos in different projects and played in Dzihan & Kamien Orchestra's 'Live in Vienna' album.
He's a member of Istanbul Superband, Passiflora and Hijazz Hicaz.

6 Mayis 1954'de Istanbul'da dogan Levent Altindag, kendisi gibi müzisyen olan babasi Erdogan Altindag'in tesviki ile müzige basladi. Onno Tunç, Serif Yüzbasioglu, Ismet Siral, Emin Findikoglu, Neset Ruacan, Süheyl Denizci, Okay Temiz, Erkan Ogur, Arto Tunç, Fahir Atakoglu, Askin Arsunan, Nükhet Ruacan gibi Türkiye'nin caz ve popüler müzik sahnesinin önemli müzisyenleriyle çalismalar yapti. Yurt içi ve disinda birçok festivale katilan, birçok albümde önemli isimlere eslik eden Altindag, bir yandan stüdyo müzisyenligini sürdürürken, diger yandan da Istanbul Üniversitesi Devlet Konservatuari'nda 'Sanatçi Ögretim Elemani' olarak ders veriyor. Levent Altindag, 7. Istanbul Caz Festivali'nde sahne alan 'Askin Arsunan Ethno Karma Project'e de konuk müzisyen olarak katilmisti.
