Movies
Working full time, doing volunteer work with a local animal rescue, living on a farm and visiting friends in Australia leaves me little time to actually watch television, but I do so adore anything educational and all things related to eco-awareness and alternative ways to help the planet.
Television
Not much time to watch television but LOVE the Ghosthunters on the scifi channel and LOVE the DEADLIEST CATCH. Check them out, and after just one episode you will be fans also.
Books
Khalil Gibran, the Prophet.
Heroes
I would have to say my father, as he was highly intelligent, level-headed, quick witted, and spoke his mind, with a dash of a really odd sense of humour. Khalil Gibran, he said everything so very elagantly that every word he spoke, had the sweet taste of truth.
I am a strict Vegetarian and self proclaimed tree hugger, incorporating as many 'eco-friendly' practices as I possibly can. I am married to the most wonderful man I could have ever imagined finding, he is intelligent, caring, patient and has a rather extensive and expansive sense of humour.
I have ridden and worked with horses over 35 years. At this time I have 4, a morgan/freisian mix that is now 47 yrs old and doing splendidly, a morgan gelding, 26ish that is a great hacking trail horse, a shetland pony with limited use of his back fetlock due to a previous injury, that we are working with, and a mini red and white pinto stud that I presented my husband for Christmas 2005.
I work with horses in post op care, therapeutic care, with experience in eye injury, lavage systems, conjunctival flap surgeries, corneal transplant surgeries, as well as sucking chest wounds. Now learning more about the natural trim theory as it relates to hoof/leg injuries and the therapy related.
We also specialize in WEIGHT GAIN if you have an older horse, or a 'hard keeper' we will be more than happy to consult with you on your horse, invite you out to see our 'geriatric but fat and sassy' horses, and answer any questions you may have. ALL HORSES ARE STALLED AND PASTURED SEPERATELY AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!!!! We also NEVER take in more than 2 horses at a time with mild to moderate needs, or 1 with dramatic or serious needs. This way, we can insure that we spend all time needed on YOUR horse's therapy and recovery.
I am blessed with 2 lovely furry daughters, Honda, the light of our lives, an adorable Dachsund mix and our new baby, Karinyah Cara, a Border Collie/Aus Shepherd mix that is 12 weeks old as of 8th of August, 2008.
