Bio
The Levitators played their first gig in November ’04 as a four piece, instrumental act. In 2005, they recruited Sam Morrison who tookover on samples and added a vocal element to the band. 2006 saw the band gain some impressive gigs supporting Nubreed, K-Oscillate, The Breakfastas and play along side Grandmaster Flash, Patife & Mampi Swift at the We Love Sounds Festival. The boys’ first show for 07 was the Big Day Out where they gave a blistering performance in the blistering heat! Late 2007, Triple J caught wind of their track “Aqualung” and decided to unearth the guys and give them a spot at The Parklife Festival alongside acts such as Lyrics Born, Shapeshifter, The Herd and Justice. The boys headed to the studio late in ‘07 to record their most popular single to date,”Dinner at Panchos” which recieved wide rotation on Triple J as well as Nova and Fresh FM radio stations... .. 2008 saw the band playing regular gigs supporting bands the likes of Salmonella Dub and True Live amongst others, and appearances at the We Love Sounds and Groove Is In The Park festivals. Following this heavy schedule, in mid 2008, the boys headed back to the studio to work on their debut album “Play It Like This”, that was released in November of the same year to much acclaim and is now available worlwide through iTunes!.. .. In 2009, The Levitators then made their fist filmclip for the track “Cabin Fever” and played their fisrt interstate gigs in New South Wales. Upon returning, the band played their biggest show to date when they performed in front of many thousands of people to officially open the 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festival, producing one of the most exciting and memorable performances of the band’s career!.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .......................... -
